When I was in Japansalon the girl in the shop told me about a fashion show being held on 19th November on their premises. A designer from Japan is going to hold a fashion show with Japanese goth clothing.

They're much more extravagant than European goths generally, so this should be fun!

If I get more concrete info (they don't seem to update their site), then I'll post it here.
Saan
Hooray! You have all the info about fun events recently. smile.gif

If my computer weren't broken I would share some of my EGL photos on this thread.

A fashion show would normally be one of the last things to interest me (ranking somewhere in between soccer and cars), but I used to hang out on Sundays in the Shinjuku/Harajuku area of Tokyo, and thought it was lots of fun to look at all the weirdly dressed girlies parading around. Is that the sort of stuff you're talking about here?

oh! if you get more info definately let me know! i really really want to go! do you think they'd allow people to take pictures duging it? a good friend's sister is studying fashion and she wants to design that type of clothing... smile.gif
UrbanAngel
Hi guys,
I'm still waiting for a reply from them. I'll phone if I don't hear anything tomorrow morning. Watch this space!
UrbanAngel
I called today and got the following info:
Saturday 19th November
Start of fashion show: 7pm
Apparently a band will be playing too.
Whole event should finish around 9pm.

No entry fee!

You're allowed to take photos if for private use.

If anyone wants any further info, the telephone number is at the link above in Post 1.

EDIT: If anyone does call, could you maybe ask for the name of the desginer? I forgot *blush*. Then I can post pretty pictures here smile.gif Send me a PM if you're going. I'm double-booked that evening but am going to try to make it.
50 millionth Edit: I'm going with 2 others, will arrive probably 6.30-6.45pm.

Twisted Bavarian - Previous Events Archive also sounds good on that night biggrin.gif
UrbanAngel
Yeah that sounds like fun too! There's also enough time to go to both events smile.gif
I'm going somewhere else after though.
UrbanAngel
Hmm how shall we recognise each other? smile.gif
Gen
Let's all speak English loudly, that always works. Or you make new friends if they turn out to be strangers after all.
MoiLV
I'll be the one with the jewelry wink.gif

Tbh, it's not particularly 'gothy' to me, but it's a contemporary spin off the cliche in Japan I guess. Each to their own. Looks interesting, that's for sure. AFAIK they're more into uniforms, maids' outfits and lolita-type little girls looking lost.

Goth band? Cyber band? Will try and make this, although I have to go to a leaving do later, otherwise would be good to follow on to a club (I got old, the last club I saw the inside of was covered in chocolate and made by Jacobs).

No mention of what kind of band. I'm hoping it's not Japanese surf music again. *shudders*
I'm going to someone's party after so won't be clubbing, but maybe another night.

Would be good. Get me dancing boots on again..

If it's that band from the "Crazy 88's" fight scene in Kill Bill Vol. 1, god help us.

Woo hoo, woo-hoo-hoo.
Woo hoo, woo-hoo-hoo.
Woo hoo, woo-hoo-hoo.
Woo hoo, woo-hoo-hoo.
Woo hoo, woo-hoo,
Woo hoo, woo-hoo-hoo.

(repeat until your head explodes)

Hope to see y'all there...

Dangit, I really wanted to go, but my date bailed on me. Okay, it was my 10-year-old son. Something about a best friend and a birthday party...I'll have to talk to him about priorities. But anyway, how was it how was it how was it? Did anybody take pictures?
UrbanAngel
Hiya,
Yeah I went.. took pix too. Was strange.. the fashion show was inside but we sat/stood outside and looked at the models through the windows. I was effing freezing so didnt stay till the end.. 1 hour in the cold was enough!
will post pix at some point.
alala
Okay, now I feel a little better about not being able to go. I don't think the Kid would have enjoyed standing outside, and I hate, hate, hate being cold. Thank you!

Band practice went long unfortunately. So I'm curious to see a couple pics too! Only made it to The Arc at 9pm as it was...
UrbanAngel
I didn't seen anyone from TT, but then again, our group was speaking German to each other, so if anyone was listening out for English, I'm sorry! Most of the people there were teenie goths dressed in black with heavy make up and some in the Japanese style. There were maybe 10 actual Japanese people there (well; I'm presuming they were Japanese). Maybe 50 people crowded outside the shop windows.
Gen
I got there at a bit after eight, and that was the worst logistics I've ever seen at a show. I only stood outside because: the band was right next to the (only) door and playing quite loudly, that first room was crammed full o'people, and the other rooms (that I could see through the admittedly practical plate-glass windows) were empty. But you couldn't get there because everyone was crowded around the band. Including a guy in a wheelchair, who might himself have preferred to be somewhere less in the way, but nobody could cram themselves anywhere else. So I left after looking through the windows for about five minutes because it was really cold.
