Congratulations! What a sweetie! You are a glutton for punishment, though. wink.gif

Apparently, you made the best of all that sleeplessness ...

Mini Crawliewinegirl MkII is on the way because sleeplessness, no free time and an unbelievably messy house ALL OF THE TIME was SOOOOO much fun the first time around...

California is going better than Oregon did Perdido. Thanks for asking. Anyhoo. Mini Winegirl is famous - She takes after her Mother I guess

Oh, and I can get you a good deal on Holiday Cards if you are interested

I assume a vineyard? Nice... if she is half as cute as winegirl its gonna suck for you when she turns into a teenager.
Crawlie
Of course! I have photos of her crushing grapes but they are not general viewing... Don't ask...
don_riina
A better thread would be TT members you'd like to meat.
GreenTea
I just nominated Parnell in the Funniest forum member thread, which reminded me that I still have yet to meet him. Oh, and Jeremy is another of the old-timers that I haven't yet met.
perdido
I got a PM from Jeremy today. He has a blog so if you want the web site send me a pm and I will forward it to you.

I once offered to make peace with Conquistador and he said "I'll think about it" and never replied again.

I like the way Ruthie posts. She seems sweet.

I've never met an TTer in person. I think it would be weird. People get such strange impressions when it's just text.

I'm convinced I've pissed off the half of you, so in that sense I wouldn't want to meet, but not because I don't want to meet you.

I'd like to drink a beer with lilplatinum. I'd like to meet Conquistador. mlovett would be interesting to meet, as would llees.

if I saw gatzke I think I'd punch him right before the introduction. Right in the mouth. But then be rather cordial.
Conquistador
BTW, horseshoe, I am still thinking about it...there is obviously no hurry since you are in Berlin. Why all the hate for gatzke???

Anyway, would like to meet Expaticus, Lifeisabuffet, cinzia, parnell, Johnny English, BadBob, Kat, perdido, OG, gatzke, garibaldi, James Runner, HEM, mlovett, MadAxeMurderer (this list is not exhaustive).
moctoj2
Well hell Conky, I feel left out. sniff.
Pas
I'd pay money to be at the Conqy v Kat meeting.
moctoj2
I feel a sisterhood to mlovett and cinzia so I'd want to meet them along (and have a beeeeer) with Sarabyrd as the leader of the pack.
horseshoe7
oh yeah, forgot Bell the Cat. Seems like a decent guy. cinzia i'd like to meet. thefirelane. All those argumentative "leftists" as they've been labeled...

My gatzke hate comes from his blind "republicanism". He seems to support everything that makes that party bad. Hence the punch. Like a penalty punch, or a moron fine. The beer afterward, if he would be up for it (can't imagine why) could be fine.

I'd like to meet all the TT stoneagers in Munich, just get a feeling of the origins of TT.
moctoj2
That's okay Conky. I doubt if I could behave myself after all of our conflicts. I'm really a great friend unless you're a republican. tee hee
Conquistador
Well, if you and mr. moctoj2 ever happen to be in Munich, let me know.
moctoj2
Since we're stuck here for xmas and new years, I might just do that. For xmas, I'd rather not spend it in a strange hotel, but new years...that's another story. Cheers!
Eleanor Rigby
I`d like to meet Fribble and Kommentarlos (unless I`ve met her already wink.gif )

Oh and Bipa and that guy from Hamburg.

EDIT: guy from Hamburg is lilplatinum
porkys
carm and all her wonderfull friends when they have a wonderfull time together
cinzia
@moctoj2, Conquistador, and horseshoe7: I'll let you all know next time I'm in Munich, and we can organize a political pub outing. I'll warn you though: I'm even more opinionated after a Mass or two! biggrin.gif
moctoj2
If the winds blow correctly, I hope we won't be here anymore, but if we are, I'll try my best to be there! More beeeer please!
gonzoryan
I would not like to meet anybody because it is nice to have a mental picture of everybody in ones head purely based on their threads. It would be interesting to see what way people would describe you solely based on the image they have made of you in their head.

I would like to finally meet Sarabyrd (many missed opportunities) and Carm (I like her attitude). I have met very few TTers: Eurovol, Parnell, DrivinWest, Ruthie, DDBug, Kat and that's all that I can remember.

if you don't get that, you're either retarded or should be shot

Multiple threats of violence spanning multiple months? They say violence is a sign of sexual frustration. Maybe this is just Canadian frustration? Or maybe they are one and the same? I guess liberals can't rely on logic in arguments so they fall back on violence... Good thing most gun nuts are conservative.

I would like to meet sarabyrd. She seems like the nicest person ever, a great mother hen for TT.

Conquistador, BattalionBoy and Expaticus could be interesting to meet in person.

Eurovol could be a good guy, outside of his politics and support of UT.

BadBob may be funny, but you never know. He could be scary too.

And there is always Yvetteforfun. Or is that just a horseshoe7 sock puppet?

I'd bet my bottom dollar that they'd have no interest in meeting you or anyone else without TT Munich life memberships.

As an experiment, block all users on the first five pages of the "overall the top 20 posters" list showing a Munich location (n.b. you can't block mods), unblock Eurovol, BTC, DDBug and Don Riina and see whether or not your TT experience improves or not.

I'm convinced the secret handshake crowd does exactly the same the other way around.

Edit: It would be great if TT's Invision Powerboard software allowed for complete invisibility of blocked user posts, karma points, visible post ratings and/or blockable "anonymous idiot" posting along the lines of Plastic.com or Slashdot.org.

wow, that is not really fair to say!

Remember it used to be ToytownMunich for years before the merge, so, while you think its a small clique unfriendly to outsiders, its really not, just most of us have known each other for years!
I personally know Showem and ThePosterwithNOName and Kat since '96, and that was long before TT.

Ill take that bet. Now where is my money? Seriously where is my money?

BTW Exwhatever I do plan to be in Hamburg and do plan to meet with some of the locals whether TT or not. Also plan to be in Berlin to meet local peeps there also TT or not.
bluedave
Well, since I know and meet TTers from Hamburg, besides meeting many from Frankfurt and other places, i'll take your money too. smile.gif

Doesn't anybody wanna meet Ol' Gil?

Hmmm, wouldn't meeting people take away there anonymity and therefore force them into be civil all the time.

How boring would that make TT?

However I would like to meet quite a few poeple to be honest. Although I have met very few TT'ers, for the most part we are (as a group) a very entertaining bunch of people and there is always someone making me laugh.

I see Conqy has left out all the 'leftists' despite the fact that several of them have said they would not mind meeting him. How narrowminded and partisan is that ;-)

I'll be hopping Canary Islands starting next week, if anyone wants to meet up. biggrin.gif

Some of the least civil exchanges are between people who know each other and get on really well in the real world.

I've met a fair few people and it hasn't slowed me down. So long as the people I know and like realise that I like them, I think it's fine. Besides, it stops me stomping Germans in the street to rant here.

But then mockery is something that's generally a sign of endearment where I grew up. It's a clear sign of social acceptance if you're able to make a joke about fucking a friend's mother and not have the friend tear off your ears.

Last time I speak to you about tractors.
Thankfully, there are enough other people out there to natter about farm machinery to. Some of them, *gasp* even live outside Munich.

Was my absolute pleasure to meet Komland recently, for example. Although we chatted about me having previously lived in Erlangen, where he now does rather than Massey Fergusons.
To be honest, I don't really keep a list of who I'd like to meet as I'd rather the (far and away mostly pleasant) surprise.

Unless you are being sarcastic I will have to disagree with you there BTC. I made the list and do call myself a leftist and proudly so. I will admit that it did disgust me when Conq would address certain TTers as leftist when in fact they were not. Maybe liberals but leftist def not.
Bell the cat
it was tongue in cheek as Conqy has a tendency to label some of us as 'leftists' and then claim that we are narrowminded and partisan. It was just notable that every person he has ever branded a 'leftist' has been left off his list. I know understand z´that when he says 'leftist' what he really means is 'to be avoided socially" biggrin.gif
Jules Winnfield
How Stalinesque to purge people like that...
Moonboot
I think I've met all the TTers I want to meet. though I'd still like to meet Perdido cuz his posts make me laugh out loud.
Pas
I can honestly say a lot of the time I can never quite work out whether I've met somebody or not. Alcohol and advancing age probably contribute to this problem.
perdido
Indeed Pas. The bad thing is that alcohol, stupidity, and the idea of having to learn two names at once affect me.

I do not want to get off too far on a tangent here, but my idea of what constitutes a leftist (which is anyhow a very broad term) is pretty similar to the Webster definition of leftism-

QUOTE
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/leftist
1: the principles and views of the left ; also : the movement embodying these principles2: advocacy of or adherence to the doctrines of the left

Note that there is no suggestion that a leftist is necessarily a Communist (although a very tiny minority of leftists are Communists). I think it is fair to say that TTers such as eurovol and BTC have, in the aggregate, left-leaning political beliefs (especially since they are, respectively, current and former party activists for parties in their homelands which are left of center). A person who is a liberal within the US political context has, in the aggregate, political beliefs which are left of center, so I see nothing pejorative about, accurately in my view, referring to them as a leftist.

I might want to remind those complaining about my use of the broad term leftist that I have been labeled several different things by some of our more politically intense TTers which were not accurate.

At any rate, the inclusion of those on the admittedly non-exhaustive list of TTers I would like to meet had nothing whatsoever to do with their political views as I would like to discuss other things with them. If I wanted to talk solely about politics I would not need to meet any TTer in person as we already do a lot of that online.

FYI, BTC, I would also say that Kat, garibaldi and cinzia are leftists, and they were also on the list. Furthermore, I could not tell you with any certainty where mlovett, James Runner or even parnell stand on the political spectrum, yet I would like to meet them as well.
