Don't any TTers ski?
We live just around the corner from the Alps, in case you didn´t notice it on Saturday when it was Föhn. ;-)
No, Irony aside, but I would love to talk some skiing with someone, noone interested?!?!

I'm interested big style but I can't go this weekend, and unless I go the weekend after that I'm pretty much booked to around the 10th of December for weekend trips..
I'm really keen though, and there seems like there are quite a few companies that offer day trips to local hills for a reasonable cost. In fact, I think I might start a thread on this..

I only learnt last year as well. The nice thing about skiing on a glacier is that the slopes tend
to be quite wide and not very steep - the best conditions for getting back into the groove!
(and the views aren't bad from 3000m, either

)

I think I'd like to come as well. Some of my favourite people are swedes. What do we do about paying, do they let us know if we're in and then transfer the money or what?

Hi Allershausen - nice to hear that you like swedes
Yes, what you do is register to the email-address, you will then get a confirmation email with bank details and such!

weather report from
snow-forecast.com is that the snow is still good (100cms) with a fresh dusting from the weekend. 40kms of piste open, so plenty to keep us amused for the day.

This is a very interesting prospect indeed but am currently down to work during the afternoon. If I can ditch that, I'll dust off the old snowboard (if us boarders are allowed!!) and come along.

oh bugger, my skis are still 'sick' after the hammering they took on spring slush in france. far too many close encounters with rocks. oh well, not that my skiing will be up to much on the first day anyway!

The
forecast's looking good for Tuesday.
I'm in Garmisch today and it's boiling. I was just gazing out of the window and
watching the cable-cars on the Wank to get myself into the mood for Hintertux.

Don't look at the link above.. if the weather stays like that the glacier is going to be like an elevated ice rink or a slush pond at best with all this warm weather we have been having...
Instead go
here for a very promising report.. you could be skiing some fresh..

Big THANK YOU to you all TTers for coming along and contributing to a great day out with a fantastic crowd! Ok, so I only heard that it was a good day, so hope you all thought so too...

Unfortunately, the skiconditions weren´t the best, hope that will improve within the next few weeks!
Hope to see you all again in February, when our next event is coming up...!

thanks a lot for a good day out . nice warming up skiing in the morning .no skiing in the afternoon as it was overcast with showers shame but you can't do anything with the weather . Overall the trip was well organised and will come with the scandinvians again
i would say to any skiers is to wait until there's more snow ,skiing on a glacier is not so exciting

It was a nice day, the snow wasn't bad and the brief patches of zero stopped me worrying about whether I was keeping my skis together (I couldn't see my feet). Roll on, ski season.
I took a few photos in the afternoon, when it was cloudy.
