Quoka.de usually has quite a lot for sale.

post the size you need and I'll have a look for you.

edit: i just pmed you an offer for winter tyres to a fit an E36 3-series. Not sure if they fit the 320i, though. you'd have to check the Kfz-schein to see.

I really don't know much about winter tyres, but I was in Real the other day and they were selling them for 40 euros each which I thought was pretty cheap for brand new tyes.. as I said though, I don't know much about tyres so they could be crap..

We have tires for sale for a 2000 320d; is that any good for you? If so, PM me or scogs.

just a note to everyone wanting to sell and buy tyres and rims. It helps a lot if you can post the actual measurements because not all models can have the same wheels fitted. You will find the allowed tyre/rim combos in the Kfz-schein. They read something like 205/60 R16 H

I just ordered tires from reifendirekt at a 135€ for 4 14 inch winter tyres (tyres only) not much more used. I debated buying better ones, but any tires sold in Germany will have to be "Tüv'd" so unless you need high performance tyres I don't see the need to spend extra.

Is €700 too much for 4 Winter Kompletträder with steel rims including montage?

I just went to Nabholz in Trudering and that's the price they quoted me (got a printout). It works out to €155/wheel + tire. They wanted to charge me €63.60 for the montage.

From my Fahrzeugschein the following codes for tire size:

205/55R16 91H
205/55R16 91H
225/45R17 91H
225/45R17 91H

It's an Audi A3 "8P" with 75kW

I have a vague feeling I'm being ripped off but maybe that's always my feeling when dealing with mechanics etc.

Any advice appreciated. I couldn't seem to find anything to match my car online, but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

There's a selection here, with the cheapest under €120 per complete wheel/tyre here, so around €470 per set. €155 isn't a bad price, but you can do better... The guys shown ship to you for €6.50, so you do have to change them yourself, but that's no biggie...

OK, in case anyone has some used ones for a bmw M roadster: I think the 2nd numbers on the Fahrzeugbrief are the ones for winter tires (M+S).

225/45ZR17 Front
255/40ZR17 Rear

or

225/45R17 90H M+S Front
225/45R17 90H M+S Rear

Also, I'm curious exactly what the "remarks" below mean.

M.Motortyp 326S1
*ZIFF.20-21 nur Michelin OD.Dunlop SP Sport 8080
*ZIFF.20:A.Felge 7 1/2Jx17,ET41
*ZIFF.21:A.Felge 9Jx17,ET8
*ZIFF.22-23:A.Felge 7Jx17,ET41
*ZIFF.28+29:keine

some other non-tire related stuff. I am guessing this is some kind of codes regarding the rim sizes allowed with and without winter tires. Aluminum only? Not sure. Incidentally the tires on it now are Kuhmo Ecsta Supra, not Michelins or Dunlops.

I'll check around at some websites... but so far no website I found has the M in their car-lists which makes me a bit nervous. Maybe the one above has it, will checkit.

Ok, I seem to have found a good offer on Quoka for winter tyres for my exact model/make of car. The ad says they are completely new.

Any ideas of what I need to look for when going to see them? I take it the profile is important.

"Audi A3 (Typ:8P)
Winterräder 205/55R16H (210km/h) Firestone auf Stahlfelgen 6X16 ET50. Reifen und Felgen sind nagelneu, kompl. Preis: 300,- Euro"

Any other things I can look for to tell whether this is for real or not? Advice appreciated.

I got mine from Sixt Autoland a couple years ago for 350. Real Mercedes Alloys and Conti Winter Contacts used but guaranteed. Still got at least another 3 winters left on them. Not a bad deal really.

If you have the time, go to Sixt Autoland in Garching and have look.

I just ordered tires from reifendirekt
To second the reccomendation I also ordered tyres from this place and they arrived within a week, and the company was very good at sending email notifications as to the progress of the order. The cost was 270 euro for four Goodyear ULTRA GRIP 7 195/65 R15 91T, which is not bad at all.

I also used reifendirekt, their agent/fitter was a mobile guy who came to the house, still undercutting all the local tyre fitters. He was German but had lived in South Africa 'til he was a teenager, so he spoke perfect English. If you want to know more PM me, I will dig out the receipt with his number.

I also use Reifendirekt, pricewise they're definitely the best and have a giant selection of brands/sizes. They'll send the tyres either to you or directly to a tyre dealer of your choice for you to have them mounted. But be careful, some tyre dealers are annoyed you didn't buy the tyres from them and will charge extra for mounting "Fremdreifen". Reifendirekt is also able to give a recommendation for getting the tyres mounted at a place near your address.
