Rules on peeing / seat lifting

When you're at home

This is to finally settle an argument with my ex.
You could say that it's too late now, but I'd still like to be the one that's right biggrin.gif

I know it's been the topic of discussion before, but I couldn't find a definitive 100% conclusive poll.
And anyway, it's Friday, innit?
grazzenger
godamnit, she's got me flipping that lid and even the girls who've voted so far think it's silly. hmph!
BadDoggie
Standing. The idea that men should have to sit down because women do is silly. Though I live alone, the seat is always down and always dry. Mum was tough on that one despite my brother and me having our own bathroom.

woof.
UpQuark
This is easily the most tired male/female conflicts ever. Ladies: if it's up and you don't want it up, put it down. End of story. Meanwhile, I tend to leave seat and cover closed to maintain proper feng shui, but that's just me.

For the record, I often stand but sometimes I sit. Why? Because I'm just extremely lazy sometimes. I hate to consider what sort of person considers standing to urinate to be a necessary and sufficient condition for manhood.
sarabyrd
I do request the seat and lid to be put down, but that is to prevent anything from falling in (toothbrush, contact lense, cat etc.).
Sin
I stand... or I pee in the garden.

I put the seat and lid down so I don't come back next time to find the loo overflowing with a two-year old's toys.
Timmeh
Keeping it permantly up also helps when you have to have an emergency pray. Milliseconds help in these situations

Where do I stand on the peeing debate?

On the edge of the sink.
Johnny English
I have 2 sons aged 9 and 5. So we outnumber girlies 3-1 and make our own rules. Sometimes I wee and brush my teeth at the same time.

but then, I make the rules in my flat (well, I do since the ex moved out, anyway smile.gif)

quality and props to that. ive managed to shave and wizz at the same time when in a real rush but thats it. i reckon its risky (imagine if you got your hands mixed up).

i think its crazy to expect dudes to sit. its my european human right to stand.

although i was told a while back at a mate's place to sit down after i asked where the toilet was. i asked why, expecting a pathetic reason, but instead he pointed to his female flatmate and said "cos she has to clean it up!" laugh.gif its a man's world.
sarabyrd
@ Schotte: If it's your right to stand, it's your duty to clean up. If you sit, the dame does it.
Schotte
i'm not sure i agree with your logic sarabyrd wink.gif

this poll should have included

"if i'm made to pee sitting down, i don't flush in protest"
Hazza
Funny that I'm apparently only 1 of 2 blokes who sits to pee when he's also got to do a crap at the same time.

What do the rest of you do? Stand to pee, then sit down immediately afterwards?...that's hardly efficient!!

Otherwise I stand to pee...always.
Timmeh
I'm with you dude, time is precious. Not only that, but when I'm forcing out a bigun, I can't help but pee...I use some serious forces when on the bog.
SleeplessInMunich
@Hazza, ah...didn't quite see that option. I guess there are some bad votes then.
don_riina
I've said it before, and I'll no doubt say it again - sitting down to pee is a great thing to do. You get to read stuff, game, watch TV, play guitar. THAT is an efficient use of time.
I also close the loo always, primarily because otherwise my dog drinks from the loo. Gross.
sea-king
I always sit down, 1 Urine is highly corrosive 2 It stinks and the aerosol effect spreads it all over the place 3 I`m not particuarly fond of the taste of my own waste products 4 I`m a Yachtsman and we all sit down to piss,(try pointing straight at sea)catch anybody pissing standing up in my ship I`ll kick his arse and he`ll scrub the heads for the next week blink.gif

Well I guess personal hygiene is very important when at sea but scrubbing??? blink.gif
sea-king
@crawlie, I`m a hard taskmaster and it´s fun to make people suffer. blink.gif
brokenm
On the toilet lid question, it doesn't seem to have all the important options. If you stand to pee and don't raise the seat??? Then it isn't up and you can't put it down..
Marshbot
Girls can leave it down. Boys can leave it up. Fairs fair. Why does one sex think they can impose rules on the other one?

Oh, and gents sitting down to pee. Um. Er... No, it's wrong sorry. Unless you are into wearing ladies panties too. Then I guess it's OK.
sea-king
@Marshbot, You must love the smell of raw piss in the morning, real men sit down to pee `cept in public places. it saves time from cleaning up which we can put to good use getting toasted. If I wear womens panties, well you`ll just have to find out for yourself. blink.gif
Timmeh
@sea-king, it's quite simple really, all you got to do when standing is pee INTO the bowl, not around it. If you're aim's a bit wonky or you shoot at a funny angle, I can understand doing the girlie pee.
sea-king
@timmeh, I`m always a bit wonky ( must be the creme d`menthe) and it splashes all over the place, I used to be a plumber I could tell you stories about fully pissed bathrooms and rusty radiators that`d make you sick. blink.gif

What do u drink (or not drink) that your pee stinks??! That sounds like de-hydration to me unsure.gif healthy pee should be clear and non-smelly. (unless u ate asparagus i guess, or ate beets...)
ahhh..have no idea why i felt compelled to share this
Topsy
I've had a couple of boyfriends, actually, who've tried to convince me that human pee is very healthy, and that really deep down there's nothing I'd rather do than drink theirs. I've yet to be convinced, though... *shudder*
Timmeh
I used to work with these lunatics in London in a THC "Healing Centre" (We're healers not dealers) and two of them drank a cup of their own piss every day and one injected it into his stomach. If it is good for you, why does your body get rid of it?
sea-king
Urine is a waste product if you feel compeled to drink it you are just returning the waste to the starting point of its journey and endangering your health, kidneys, liver etc,, or yourè a German and we know how they like their Golden Showers don`t we? blink.gif

Always sit down in the mornings, as I sometimes have a jetspray i.e. the pee shoots off in multiple directions. Rest of the day, I generally stand. I always lift the seat though and put it back down. Some guys at hostel used to always pee on the toilet seat which really er pissed me off!

Actually there is a doctor here in Munich that is well know for his research in that field. He believes drinking your own urine will help strengthen your own immunesystem. People are lining up to be treated my him. After I found that out, it was kind of gross to clean his teeth again! ohmy.gif
He has written papers and a book on this subject.
kathie
I don't have an issue with my man peeing standing up. He's quite a good aim, to be fair! I do, however, insist that he puts the seat and lid down, as our medicine cupboard is kind of like the black hole of calcutta and something falls out almost every time you open it. It's also sitauted directly above the loo. Of course, the better solution would be to reorganise the medicine cabinet, but hey...
Didsbury's Daftest
I think this is the funniest thread I've read since joining. Never giggled so much, it nearly made me...yeah ok.
Toilet lids should always be down. Nothing is worse than walking into someone's loo and finding the seat and lid up. Partly Feng Shui, partly common sense. We all hate public toilets anyway. For me sitting down was always the most comfortable way - and still is. Of course there are situations where standing up is the only solution, too. But I have seen - and it's always quite interesting - women doing the same thing. Nevertheless, due to a few visits to urologists and operations in that area, I have actually been told that it makes more sense if men can see what they are actually leaking...the colour (dark, red etc.) can tell you lots about your current state of health. Men who always sit down, like me, might miss an important detail - and then it's too late. I loved your contribution Carm, seeing my dentist in Hamburg next week, lets see if he can separate my urine from the red wine, guuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...yummy or dummy?
Showem
Trust me, if there is blood in your urine, you don't need to see it, you will FEEL it.

Well, I'm yet to live with bloke who presents me with the gift of raw piss in the mornings. I guess if I am ever lucky enough to meet him I will ask him to kindly sit down when he explodes like a ruptured pipe, or alternatively take him to toilet training.

Until that time though, I stand (ha) by my words. (Sailors or whatever exluded if you really insist. But I bet you pirates don't sit down to pee. Arr, thart be fer the wenches.)
UrbanAngel
We both leave the lid down, but due to a different reason - we have a cat smile.gif If we don't leave it down, she either jumps in and has a sniffle around (ugh!) or she falls in when trying to jump on to the top of the bathroom cupboard, as she doesn't realise it's up biggrin.gif

You should toilet train her then she will not fall in smile.gif You can even get a kit to help train them.

I´ve always stood. I know that sometimes no matter how hard I try, I will miss. I feel guilty about this. But having a long penis causes problems when sitting down on the toilet. Namely it drops into the bowl and starts fishing around in the cold water making it hard if not impossible to pee. I´ve checked into "deep well toilets" but they are just too expensive for my budget at the moment. I do like those low urinals that one finds in most bier halls. You probaly thought they were for short men, quite the contrary.
take care,
