New in town.
Moved here from Brighton a few weeks back to be with my girlfriend.
Starting out here from sratch. Caught the tail end of Oktoberfest - Just finished a quick german course -registered with this site and thrown a few posts up - thats about it so far.
Anyone out there from Sunny Brighton. Or my home turf of Kent and Sussex.
Best wishes
Steve

About bloddy time too
Place is being over-run by flatcap wearing, whipping racing northerners.
@BM

Thanks for the welcome Topsy
It´s grim up north i suppose - whats a whipping race? A strange satanic northern custom perhaps?

I'm not from Brighton but I think it's the coolest town in Britain. Move it closer to some mountains and I'll move there next week.

It was cool until it got to the point where the majority of the population came from outside Sussex.
60something % I think its gone down hill since then.
@Brighton Munich
I see those arsehole brothers that own the Palace Pier managed to get away with their little "bonfire". Allegedly!!
No competition danger now then.

Richmond - guess it counts as London, but postal address is Surrey. I was lying on Richmond Green in August in the sun with a book and picnic not wanting to come back. Followed by pub right on the Thames ... don't know why I'm still here.

Not me honest -
Yeh. The west pier is in such a bad way now after the bonfires that it looks like nothing will be done with it. On one hand Brighton has got better. E.g on the sea front years back was just the Shark bar and Forturne of War. Now it is ramed with clubs - so no bad thing. But have to agree that it has got too ´trendy` almost too much london money sloshing about. None of my mates who work localy can afford to buy a house only my mates that work in london can aford them now.
Appologies to the Surrey contingent. Lived in Guildford for a year. It was very very ´Nice´
Its nice to see that there are a few people about from my home ground.

Given that I live on the South Coast, I am missing the sound and sight of the sea big time... diving the lakes doesn't quite have the same feel to me...
