Well, I was chatting with a buddy of mine yesterday, and they told me they had killed a fair few small furry animals in their time.
This didn't shock me at all, but it did apparently shock another friend of theirs (which is why they brought it up).
So have you? And would you?

Killed a fair few fishies in my time, destined for my belly via the BBQ. Kill the odd creepy crawlie, but only if they're askin' it.

I hate it when the bunny rabbit runs out into the road and you swerve to avoid hitting it, and just as you get right up to it, the stupid bugger runs back into the path you originally took to avoid it in the first place.
Killed a squirrel a couple of weeks ago when it ran out from nowhere and under the car (I hate that).
Mosquitos I take great pleasure in reforming into a 2-dimensional state.

People who say they haven't killed anything.. Have you never walked along a pavement with ants on it and accidentally trodden on some ? Or driven a car on the motorway, killing flying bugs as you go?
Ok, these are not deliberate but they are still killing. You don't NEED to drive fast if killing them was to bother you.
So other than a magnifying glass and a few poor ants when I was a kid and the everyday accidental killings as mentioned above, I have killed nothing (but I voted bugs and stuff).
I cannot and will not even squash bugs and hate it when people squash them near me.
But I am sure I would kill for food, as humanely as possible of course

edit: Oh wait.. little gnats, mozzies flying round the house trying to eat me, I do kill them, but thats my limit
edit:edit: and fruit flies...

Mostly Eels. But also a few fish, quite a few rabbits, mice, and a few various birds. Oh and a possum in the car (or was it a cat

). I have also assited in the slaughter of some sheep but never did the actual killing myself.
Almost killed a dolphin once when I went swimming with them and one laid a big runny turd in my path, but the bastard swum away before I could get him.

grew up on a farm, so in the fall we slaughtered the pigs and cows, and then in the summer we always ate the chickens, ducks and geese. We also hunted and fished! Deer, Moose, and Elk, plus lots of fresh trout, Jack fish, and perch!
I can shot a rifle, used to use gophers as target practice- as they would dig up the fields, then the cows would step in the holes and break a leg- then we had no milk! Trapped a Fox once too!
I grew up in the prairies of Canada, this was normal.

Mosquitoes. I kill mosquitoes. I change when I see mosquitoes. I really hate mosquitoes.

I had a bite mark on my forehead three days ago and found the bastard on my wall, nice and cosy, wacked it and had blood, lots of it, all over my hand. It was gross. I'll do it again. Hate them. I also suck up some of the spiders in the hoover when I clean the flat. I have to admit that this is bothering me a lot, but if I were to let them all live I'd have to move out! The way they multiply, it's incredible! I really hate spiders as well, but won't normally kill them. Once a week I practise spider birth control using the hoover. I have spoken to BF about it and he just says "well, they don't pay any rent, do they?". I still don't think it's right to suck them up. What should I do?
If I were hungry I'd kill a chicken any time. I dislike chickens for some reason. I wouldn't be able to kill a fish or anything else, so there'd better be a chicken around when I have to kill something.

Actually, Kza just reminded me. Shot a possum once, that made me feel kinda ill cos it didn't die and just ran off screaming. It took another 3 shots with a .22 at point blank in the head before it died, so after that kill I went to my tent and went to bed feeling really awful and couldn't partake in any more culling

Ooops - I said "bugs" but forgot about the pigeon I had to shoot that got stuck in our warehouse once back in the UK. Could not set the alarm system until we got him. Air gun pellets not very effective against a pigeon but he went down eventually, then needed one right in the head to finish him off.
Interesting to see 2 people voted as having polished off another person.

my biggest kill was a pregnant pheasant that came up and smacked the grill of the car. eggs and whatever flew out all over the windscreen. its mate was clucking around by the side of the road.
wasnt pretty but a total accident. tasted fucking good with a bit of wine though.

I've hunted for game and fished as well. I will kill any and every mosquito, tick, wasp, bluebottle and fruitfly that I can. Most other bugs are safe.
I've hit a bird or 2 when driving as well, mostly crows and pigeons.

Oh, and I've fished and accidentally run over a skunk. I'd like to go hunting sometime, as I think it's important for anyone who eats animals to experience the reality that our sustenance comes from death. I never kill insects though (don't intend to eat them!) but release them into the wild or let my cats kill them.

Except spiders. I let the spiders stay in my house because they eat the other bugs.

The obligatory bugs, of course, and mice in mice-traps. I am still not sure about the tarantula while I was driving down Central Valley (California), I don't THINK I squashed it but maybe I did.
As to why ... well mosquitos etc. are self-explanatory, and the frigging mice kept me awake at night by chewing on the floor boards and wainscotting. The tarantula - if I did get it - for no good reason except not avoiding it.

Hundreds of cockroaches. I do my best to herd bugs outside but that just doesn't work with them.
I've taken out a few fire ant mounds but that's because the bastards were asking for it. Sympathy for all of god's creatures disappears after you've been bitten by a few hundred of a certain kind.

I once participated in the wanton slaughter of a tapeworm.
In my defence it was my patient or the tapeworm to live.
We had a team meeting and by a slim margin we opted for saving the patient.
Clearly we had to change our names and leave the country straight afterwards.
I think the Police are still after us.
This is the most pathetic attempt by the fur brigade on TT to justify themselves. You lost accept it.
What you think by comparing someone humanely killing for food to electricuting an animal via its genitals, so some sad bint can drape herself in a corpse you will redeem your friend.
