Hi Toytown Peoples,

I play with a band here in Munich called The Scovilles. The Munich music scene is tough, so I would like to ask for the expat support.

Our Music falls somewhere between The Pixies, Weezer, Pavement, Foo Fighers, Blink 182, REM and (fill in your favorite band here).

You can find more info about the band on our website: The Scovilles

Keep an eye out for our concerts in Munich!

Cheers,
Michael

Hello Again,

Thanks for the posts. The show at Feierwerk Orangehouse was a success. Local radio station M 94.5 was kind enough to do a feature on us including a live interview before the show. Looks like they might be adding us to rotation there.

We are taking a two month break to do some studio stuff. We are currently lining-up some late spring and summer shows. Some rumors are floating around about a position at a big music festival in Olympia Park, but I can not confirm it.

I may be doing some accoustic stuff in the next month around Munich. I played an accoustic show at Hard Rock Cafe last Friday.

Anyway, that is the scoop. Keep posted to our website www.thescovilles.com for the latest information. We also have a newletter that you can signup for on the website.

Thanks again and see you at the next show.

Servus,
Michael

Summary:

The Scovilles in Concert
Thursday 11.Nov.2004 @ Substanz

Starting around 8:30pm
Ruppertstr. 28, U3/U6 Poccistraße

Music Style: Independent "damn song won't get out of my head" kind of music. Sort of like Pixies meets Pavement meets FooFighters meets Sum 41, but not really.

Hi All,

Once again time for free marketing. The last few months have been interesting for The Scovilles. We are starting to hear a little radio play on local station M94.5 and Antennae Bayern. We have also made a few changes in the band line-up, bringing in a drummer the locals aptly call him Bam Bam (for the drummers out there he works at Trojan Drumshop near Gärtnerplatz). You will swear that Dave Grohl is on stage. To boot a fresh new freakish looking guitar player with tatoos from head to foot. When you balance that out with two average looking Joes that are a little angry but mostly confused, you have the new Scovilles formation.

Anyway to make a long story even longer, we are playing at SUBSTANZ in about a week. Thursday Nov. 11th to be exact. There will be some record company suits lurking in the corners and nothing impresses a talent scout like a hall full of fun loving lunics….thus the Toytown Munich post. I promise nothing but pure energy and a good time for all.

As Substanz is in the middle of a Wohngebiet (neighbourhood), all shows must end by 10 PM so get there early. Good news for those of you that have to wake-up early on Friday.

For more information check out our website at www.thescovilles.com

Thanks for the support!
Michael

Insider tip: Urge Overkill is playing a "not-too-publicized" acoustic show at Substanz the night before us.

I must agree with all of the positive comments in this forum. The Scovilles are for real and they are such a breath of fresh air in Munich. If you a live music fan (like the kind that you get in the UK, US, Ireland), go see these guys.
