But, stuffed with teenagers.

Yup, as I said earlier, Kultfabrik is best avoided. Just too many teenyboppers.

grunge is typified by an extended usage of alternative tunings

Hard rock, on the other hand, is typified by guitarits strongly influenced by blues...Typical hard rock bands would therefore be Led Zeppelin

Led Zep used more types of alternate tunings that the overwhelming majority of bands I'd say.
Perhpas grunge bands use more open tunings though.

Anyhoo, at least I can vaguely follow all this talk of differences between metal/rock/grunge/whathaveyou. Much easier than trying to work out what the fuck the difference is between "drum n bass", "garage", "techno" and the 5000000 different phat and flavour combinations that basically all just mean "house" to me.

EDIT: went back to the Going Out main forum page after making this post, and saw "electro bigbeat breaks" in the title of another thread. Enough said.

Sorry I joined this convo so late; limited net access from the trade fair smile.gif
There´s a list of clubs here : Goth / Industrial / Metal - Clubs & Bars which might interest you ranging from indie to heavy metal to goth.

Not sure what kinda bands you like, but like Eleanor Rigby, i´d recommend Keller and Backstage (though never been to the latter!). I haven´t had a good dance to that kind of music for a while, so let me know if/when you go!

@MB

Just a note on Atomic Cafe; the music is okay, but nothing awesome. I don't think it would really get you going. The place is not too posh though. Never had a problem with dress code and I dress like shit.

Ok, so there seems to be a lot of people interested in hard and heavy music afterall! Let's all go together then! I won't be able to go before the 12/13th of November(that weekend), because I still have a backlog to catch up on from having been away for 10 days recently. Will post something under the usual TT Events thread as the date draws closer, ok? Nothing stops you though from getting together before then as well btw., but I can't wink.gif We will give Sin's recommendation in Schwabing a go.
