As I rent out my UK house as furnished, I asked for both contents and buildings cover however my current insurers (bless em) only offer buildings cover if the property is let.
The thing is that the loft contains some other things that are not being used by the tenants.
Anyone had similiar experiences and found a satisfactory insurer.

In the past I used Ensleigh's Landlord scheme. They will cover your possesions still in the house/flat up to whatever value you set... or at least they used to.
You need to have things like an electrical safety certificate and a corgi gas safety certificate etc. too. They used to give you substantial legal cover in case of non paying tennants too.

Hi there
We use Letsure landlord insurance, which covers 5000 gbp of content and building, also covers for legal things too. It's the one our letting agents recommended. They seem to be ok, although we haven't had to make a claim yet.

We use
www.brokersdirect.net which i found to be the cheapest, they use the company Rentguard. I got a quote with Rentguard which was more expensive than going with brokersdirect.net
