I was glad I made it out, thanks for organising! Hope I didn't heckle the other team too much.

But but but.. it was your own team you put off smile.gif
We have the technology!
newfoundlander
Very sorry I missed it... unexpected guests are a killer to planned weekend activities.

Hope to be there next time.
canuck
@Toast: I'm red as a lobster too...Damn that suntan lotion sucks!!
Toast
poor thing- beer isn't suntan lotion!
Toast
Some of us are anxious for the next game (despite sore muscles) & I wanted to see if we can get enough people together for Thursday evening. Details are below & as always, newbies (to the forum &/or the sport) are welcome. cool.gif

What: Co-ed Softball

When: Thursday, 8.September.2005 @6pm

Where: In the English Garden near Dietlindenstr. and Hirschau Biergarten, where the Ultimate Frisbee group normally plays on Sunday (see map below)

Who: Everyone welcome (men and women), even if you have never played before and just want to try it out.

How: Post here- so we have an idea of numbers. (PM if you want a handy number to make sure you find the location)

What to bring: Only yourself and maybe some beer (or other eats & drinks). There's also a kiosk next to the field as well as the Hirschau Biergarten. We have bats, balls, and plenty of gloves for anyone who doesn't have one.

jml
i'll come. same position as last time, mind ph34r.gif

ps: but will bring others to play for me. outsourcing is gooooood biggrin.gif
benpanter
I'll think about it, but no promises...
canuck
I'll try to make it...It depends on work and how much beer you bring Toast.
Toast
@jml
i'm nominating you for cheerleader. if i recall correctly, you do have experience & i'm sure the guys wouldn't mind the outfit. don't worry, i'm sure we can find blackberry colored pom-poms.
mingaman
count me in biggrin.gif
yossarian
Count me in as well as my wife. Maybe this time she'll spend more time on her feet than her bum.
More tea, Vicar?
Sorry, I speak English.

Why is it called "co-ed"? Are there school girls playing with school boys?
jml
yes, wear your vicar frock. it'll be more exciting that way. wink.gif

ps: Toast you bastard. I is retired.
Showem
Ooh, I hope I can make it again. Took me until Monday evening to figure out why my back was sore though. I can only imagine how much persimmon's butt hurt. Just freshly twisted my ankle an hour ago though, so I'm not making any promises until later.

In Chicago (not sure about the rest of the US) we say co-ed for any sports that are open to men and women even if they are adults.

And, I'll be there!
MadGolfer
Dont know if I Dare ...

But if you dont Mind, Alex. Dave and Tanya would like to come again...
Tom17
I'll come along to bat and be the catchy guy with a beer behind the batter smile.gif
persimmon
Would love to have the family out again MadGolfer. And of course you too Tom17, can't go without a catchy guy.
Carm
Would love to make it out once this year, but that is the same night at the Canadian club meeting. sad.gif
jml
bring the canadians then biggrin.gif
Toast
oh carm, c'mon- we'll have a possible 4 canadians! that counts, 'eh?
Carm
Sorry, the Canadian Club is my prioritity, as I know what its like to try to keep it going! And I cannot let Norma down!
yossarian
Just out of curiosity...and my weak Central-North American brain, does a Canadian Club meeting involve a bunch of people sitting around and drinking fizzy water and telling funny fizzy water anecdotes?
Toast
not fizzy water- whisky.

yossarian
Maybe I should attend the Canadian Club and pick up a few pointers. I honestly thought is was club soda, but then again, I thought Dana Carvey was the Prime Minister in the late 80's huh.gif
jml
laugh.gif

/bopping head to theme song from wayne's world, excellent
canuck
I'd vote for Dana Carvey over say, Paul Martin...
jake

Showem

Toast
