We have people from the frisbee group coming too, so we should have enough for a proper game.

Is this going to be a regular event? I really hope so. I doubt I'll be able to make it today, but definitely do want to join next week/time.
I will be there as well... but I make no promises that I'll actually be able to hit anything! It's been sooooo long since I played little league, and I'm probably one of the few people to say I've gone 0 for 100 in a batting cage... or gotten a strike at T-Ball. yeah, go figure. But I'll be there for some possible comic entertainment

Will you diminish mine while you're at it?

Who's dumbass idea was it to head to Murphy's AFTER the beergarden?
Will be there to cheer and laugh at Brits unsure of what they are doing. I feel it is my duty.

Ok, I blatently lied. I will be there for softball today! I'm heading to the EG now, but will move to the softball spot for 4pm. Anyone else think it could be tough finding space at primetime on such a beautiful German holiday?

I should be there with my better half.
If we don't find any space to play, then we're pretty close to the beergarden...

We are now on our way for anyone in the garden with a laptop. Packing a family is not so easy.

We came, we saw (no one there), we left!
Actually, we spent about 45 minutes checking out any possible neighboring fields and realized that it would have been impossible to play anywhere in the vicinity. Next time, come out here to Friemann. There are three fields to play in and they are always available. There is a biergarten very close to two of them with awesome Greek food and an excellent Italian place next door.
To be honest, I will not go through packing up the family again to go to the Englisher Garten. There are just too many better places to go than into tourist and local lounger hell.
Hate to have missed this one as I was really in the mood to smack a few out of the park.

Thanks all for a great game, and for putting up with us brits who just didn't understand the rules...
@eurovol: We were playing throw and catch at the meeting point till 4:30, then had to find somewhere where we could actually play - namely at the level of Dietlindenstrasse. by the Hirschau beergarden. Sorry you missed it!

The pics are now posted in the gallery.
Thanks for a fun afternoon and game all! I really appreciate all the gear and the organization of it all too. It was great to play a new sport and meet all the new people. Additional bonus... looks like we have a few new fun friends for Ultimate too!

thanks for coming everyone. i think the highlight was the cricket run with the bat. electrobuzz certainly made up for not knowing the rules with his awesome catches and hits.

Thanks for organising that! I had a great time trying to learn the rules through trial and error

I cant believe how much exercise just a little bit of running about can be, my legs barely move today.. good stuff!

Is it really just the four of us interested in playing again. I had a really good time and by the looks of everyone else, so did they. I think this should be made into a regular event maybe only one night a week but, if we consistently play others are bound to come. Ulli and I were walking behind everyone else, cause I left money at the first place we sat down when we started playing. There was a few people who stoped us and asked blah blah blah, but all wanted to know if they could play ndxt time. Seriously it's fun, tons of, well maybe not tons, beer, and atleast 22 new faces to meet. IT'S A GREAT TIME. PM if you want to start this on a regular basis.

I would love too, but only if there is a regular place to go. Taking the family is not an easy task. Until my 3.5yo can walk faster than a snail and not stop to look at every stick and stone, the thought of going somewhere only to move to somewhere else is just not that appealing. There are several wide open spaces out here in
Freimann if anyone wants to scout them out. They are regularly free and there is an awesome beer garden/Greek restaurant in the neighborhood as well as an Italian place and a few other local eatery's. Plus there is always the possibility of backyard grilling after the game.

If someone warns me in advance to bring beer I'll be along again... and the Dietlindenstrasse venue is just fine I reckon. Enough space to play, enough proximity to paths to keep it exciting...

I'm there for sure and I intend on sticking around for
Ultimate Frisbee at the same spot at 6.
so, softball at 4?
ultimate at 6?
this sunday?
ug, gonna be a long day I reckon... but hell yeah, I'm in. Just might mention real quick, though, that the weather forecast for this weekend is:
Sat hi 19C / low 11C 80% chance of precip.
Sun hi 19C / low 11C 60% chance of precip.
So it probably won't be quite as warm as last time

sunday @ 4 sounds good. how did it work with the equipment last time? i kinda forgot to ask persimmon where they keep it all, but i guess i could just rummage around in their apartment...
So, just looking for an update to make sure this thing is still on... is there equipment? Are there enough players? I just don't really want to turn up to find 5 people and no bats/balls/etc.
Hope to see ya'll tomorrow...

jip, you better hope others turn up, because if it's only you, the place will still be lacking any balls!
