Apparently the tickets are €50! I am guessing there must be a few other bands playing...??? Anybody know?

Support not announced yet but there won't be more than one playing and that's about standard price for Königsplatz concerts (Sting costs 57,50€ there this year and the last time he played I went and there was only a very short unknown support band, REM cost about the same and had Feeder as support).
The concerts at Königsplatz tend to end early due to open-air noise restrictions (the same that apply to Biergardens) in Munich. Mind you at last year's Bruce Springsteen open-air the lights went on at 11pm but Bruce kept playing ha ha.

Tickets:
http://www.muenchenticket.de/8Pzvf0v_q3DnA...ng.jsp?id=89401It seems to me completely not worth the asking price. Total rip-off. Maybe I'm way out of touch, but I wouldn't have thought you can compare Sting, REM & Springstein with Dido. Nobody even heard of her before Eminem brought her into the public eye with Stan.
On another note, what is the moderation policy here? It baffles me. Alan can say CUNT and that's fine, Munkeeh has a whinge about Flogger and his post is moderated. Is it just a random deletion script at work or is it something else?

Keydeck, I do agree and I don't agree. I'll explain.
Yes you are right, Dido first became really well-known after "Stan" came out. The track "Hunter" was also heavily used in an US-American TV show as well.
BUT she does shift a hell of a lot of product - the actual sales figures would cause stun and awe in fact. The single "White Flag" has shifted half a million copies in Germany alone. That's a lot of units. It is also her first ever large scale tour of Europe. So she can command those kind of prices.
Plus Königsplatz is a good venue for Dido.
People who go there tend to be over 25, have money and be album buyers.
You can sit down, don't get pushed or crushed, can bring a picnic and drink prosecco. REM was an unusual concert for the venue frankly.
It will sell out, believe me.
I won't be going, I don't own any of her stuff (apart from when she was on some Faithless things) but I do sing along to her on the radio (coz I can hit all those notes ha ha

).

Went there for the Paul McCartney concert.
as an open air venue its a great experience. We bought cheap seats at €55 a ticket - got inside to find we had been moved right to the front.
You get a mixed crowd in there as its a "posh" place, no mosh pit anywhere in sight.
Probably wont be going to see Dido, like her stuff, but shes getting too big - prefer to see the British pop people when they play the smaller places in munich

I certainly won't be going, but since I haven't been to any gig in Königsplatz yet I should give it a try sometime. It does sound like a good spot for a more relaxed easy listening type if gig. Of course if that is the case, with a bottle of prosecco & a picnic, I'm not sure what'll happen with Lenny Kravitz on June 19th. He's looking for €48 with Sting the following night looking for €55. Could make a weekend of it.

oooooh Lenny Kravitz... (sigh)

Lenny will be like REM, standing with a bit of a jumpy area at the front but with picnic people at the back. Don't forget that Lenny does do a few sway yer lighters songs, "Stand by my woman" to name but one.
Sting is a good night, I saw Lenny years ago at the Birmingham NEC. Did feel slightly embarassed wolfing down a big steak sandwich in front of Macca though, place stank of BBQ *oops*

königsplatz - dildo . sorted. 48 euros is fük all to pay for a concert. think youre out of touch with the market. try going to a concert in england...50quid minimum.
sting was more expensive, he was good but wont compare to the little babe.

For the Königplatz concerts, if you don't want to pay the big bucks for the tickets...all you have to do is just pull up a lawnchair and listen outside the enclosed area. We did this for REM and Paul McCartney last year...there are a few 'elevated' places where you can see stage and the sound was also perfect. We brought down our coffee table and put it on the sidewalk last year...why the hell not? Opened a few brews and enjoyed the free music.
Perfect...except for the one McCartney concert when it rained bigtime...
We're thinking of moving our sofa down this year for the concert...??!!

Its costing me 55 euros to see the white stripes in dub in august. But that's cause MCD are filthy money grabbing c**ts.
Max price of *any* gig should be around 20 euros IMHO. Unless you get your own comfy chair to sit on when you want and a guarantee of no tall gits standing in front of you.

Hi,
yes it is right, she wasnt famous before STAN with Eminem... but come on lets be honest, she is very very good! She has got a great voice and she is so sweet, at least not snobbish! And her last album is really got! I did not even download it from the net :-) even if I could :-)
I would be in for that! What shall I do?
David.
