Hats off to Faris Al-Sultan. That's one tough mother! No way I'd be able to do that!

It must have been the right leg because there was still a leg left!

Wow. I was listening to a radio interview with him about 2 weeks ago talking about his preparation etc. He seemed pretty confident that he was not going to win, so this must be even better for him.
Cograts Faris!

Seems the first thing he did after the interviews is go the the nearest Taco Bell and stuff himself with tacos and burritos.

He also broke the record for the Hawaii IM. But he better watch out as I know of one TTer who is going to do IM Austria next year.

Faris came third at the 2006 event last weekend (21.Oct.2006).
The winner was
Normann Stadler, a.k.a. "The Norminator", who incidently is also German - from Mannheim.

Germans seem to be doing well at the Ironman events.
My brother-in-law did the "Ironman Moo" in Madison, Wisconsin in September, and both the male and female winners were German.
