The Witzigmann Palazzo dinner show opens for the 2005/6 season next weekend - Friday 21st October 2005.

The show is a gourmet four-course dinner with live music and entertainments. It takes place in the Spiegelpalast at the Olympiapark. The interior this year has been designed in the style of the famous 1920's New York nightclub, the Cotton Club.

Prices start at €95 per head, and rise to €135 depending on seating and day of the week. The big premiere show is on 27th October when lots of Munich's rich and famous will attend. Tickets for that show are €250 but they appear to be already sold out.

A few TT readers have attended these shows in previous years but reviews have been mixed. Some said they loved it. Others said it wasn't up to much. But if you're looking for a different kind of night out and can afford it, seems like it might be worth a try.

We went a couple of nights ago and in my opinion, you could say it's like an overpriced circus with good food and expensive wine. That's a bit harsh but you get the picture. Tickets include food and entertainment with drinks extra. Our bill between 6 of us for drinks alone was €450.

The show is very well put together and this year the band, "Cotton Club" is from the US as well as some of the other acts. (Common language backstage is English apparently). I'd recommend it, but you need to speak German to really appreciate it. I especially enjoyed it cos I had a shag in the toilet. I'm probably not supposed to say that, sorry EB. Doh!

I know someone who goes to the show every year and she said this is the best one she's seen yet. So, if it's your bag, it's probably worth it.

It was my birthday so my wife bought the second tier tickets at 115e. At the show it became apparent that we were in the cheper seats , the people sitting beside us had only paid 95e and the table's beside us had only paid 95e. So at the end of the night we complained to the manager and he was completly rude , he said everyone we spoke to was lying and made us out to be idiots.
