Tomorrow I plan to get pretty wasted. Am trying to plan something out. Wake up at 9, eat breakfast at the Steinheil Kneipe and head to
Marienplatz around 10 or so. Party there for a while and maybe watch some of the real madrid game in the evening. Who wants to join and what ideas do you suggest?

I will join, but a little later. What time depends on how easy it is to get my snowboard fixed again.

Careful sparty most shops are open halfday tomorrow, and even then most wont be thinking much about working.
Tomorrow will be out and about somewhere, but if the weather stays like this it aint going to be much fun, think I will be having the hip flask with me

I've got half day work and am looking for a pre-game warm-up (can I show off again?

ha ha).
If you are going to Viktmkt you should try and get there early and watch the Marktweibertanz
Infos here (in German).Music starts at 8am, the Marktweibertanz is at 11:05am.

Couple of tips:
Arrange a meeting place a little away from the crowds. If you say "the fish fountain in Marienplatz" or "the Maypole in Viktualienmarkt", you will have a hard time meeting anyone due to the crowds.
Forget about using your mobile phone to contact anyone. The nets in that area of town are so busy on Tuesday that you will have about a 15% chance of sending an SMS and the same for phoning. Assuming they can hear the phone ring or you speaking over the celebrations.
I'm out of town tomorrow or I'd meet up with all of you for a glass of something naughty. Have fun!

Fasching is because everyone parties hard before Lent and that period of giving it all up. As the Swedes aren't that religious or Catholic, I don't think they do celebrate it.

I am working as well...
till early afternoon and showem is right, it will be very difficult to meet up in the crowd. Any suggestions for working ppl to meet up later on and then try to join the others who will be far ahead in getting wasted anyway???
Meet up like 3 - 4 pm?

me too am working. if i were in munich I'd be required to take a half day off too. i woke up at 7 a.m. however. isn't it a lovely day?
have fun and drink a grog in my absence.
what do the munichites say to starting carnival, you know like "hellauf" or whatever. i went out and bought 4 krapfen for my collegues so as to put a leetle bit of carnival spirit in the air.

Couldn't sleep last night. Woke at 4a.m. and have been pottering about since. I envy those of you with the afternoon off for carnival festivities. From the webcams, town looks packed. I'll just sit here at my PC for the next 7 hours or so. Fun, fun, fun.

Why do these threads seem to turn into people moaning that they can't join in. I don't see what use those posts are to the people who are trying to organise something.
It's like on a question thread:
Initial post - Where can I find x in Munich?
Pointless reply - I don't know.
Just don't reply if you can't be of any use.
Keydeck
Feb 24 2004, 11:10 am
The reply is of no use to the people going. However, the people not going don't really give a toss about those going (well I don't anyway). It's a moan just like any other moan and perhaps in some small way it makes us feel better that we are not the only ones being denied the fun. If the moderators wish to split out the negatives from the positives or delete them altogether then no doubt they will.

Do you not think that perhaps you're on somewhat dangerously thin ice with a comment like that?

Hmmm. Shall I be bitchy? Bitchy or not bitchy...oh the decisions...
I'm now off to my aerobics class (I have been nagged to still go) and will look in on this thread at just after 12:30. If anyone wants to come along with me to the Viktmkt either sign up below or pm me with your mobile number.
If people say that they can't go it saves me mailing them to find out/nag them.

Well excuse me. I was actually pm'd and asked by some of the posters if I was going and the thread actually did ask a direct question. I merely answered it.
At least my post was to do with the thread, yours Big C was in itself just another moan. Chill Winston!
Big C
Feb 24 2004, 12:22 pm
True, true. So I'll add another post which adds nothing to the thread!
It's just that lots of threads recently about going out have had lots of posts from people saying that they aren't going and moaning about not being able to go.
Keydeck
Feb 24 2004, 12:24 pm
Like the Boys Night Out thread for example. I make a posting asking who is going and you yourself post to say that you will not be going. Isn't that the same thing? Like Katrina said, I'd prefer to know who is AND who isn't gonna go as it saves chasing people up. If someone posts to say they can't go then at least you know that they've read it.

Right, I'm signing off. If you haven't got my number already, you probably know someone who has (try Pootle, Sparty of Jimbo for starters) or ring/text someone on the thread who has said that they are going.
So HELAU and ALAAF

Looking at that, I am glad I am not there. Although the weather in Stockholm is not much better.
Well those of you who did go, hope you have fun.
@Big C - Now who's moaning ! We would not be British if we just did not have a moan at something. Come on look at the Germans, they moan & complain at most things, and being in Stockholm again, after not being here for the last 4 months, reminds me that the Swedish moan even more than the Germans !

great day yesterday. We did it like true drinking champs. And for those of you who didn't make it, you missed a good one and should be ashamed.

I have now decided that Toytown Munich forum should be called drunk alcoholics in Munich forum.

Will try to post pictures of why I say this in the near future.
