Worst Munich newspaper headlines

...and some of the best too

No, they weren't content with the classic the other summer about the "Grill Polizei" where they reported about the cops checking sausages down the Flaucher.

No the TZ does it again today.

What's the most important story now?

New federal government? Kashmir earthquake? Enviromental change? Iraq?

No, it's how long the Schuplattler are going to perform at the opening game of the World Cup! laugh.gif
Jeeves
Yeah I read that in the container (or whatever you call those sales points where honest people put their money in and remove a paper) precisely because it is the headline and you can't read any more of the paper without being honest.
What they are complaining about is that these artists are only going to be allowed to perform for 45 seconds. The assumption is that the rest of Germany is ashamed of Bavaria and therefore restricts such cultural displays to such a short time.

OK I haven't been out of the house yet today, but that means the headlines on paper are completely different than in the online version, correct? The website has the Stoibers' Wochenend-Ehe as the biggest headline, and I see nothing about the Schuhplattler. Or was that article on one of the black and white sheets and not actually on the front page?
MonksTown
No, front page at Fraunhoferstrasse station this morning.

Or perhaps they just wanted a picture of men in tight leather trousers to play to the local market? wink.gif
Twirlie
"Local" being the keyword there.

Yesterday's Bild had a whole color photo page on Daniel Kubelbeck's ear. I couldn't find anything about the Kashmir earthquake. rolleyes.gif

@ Jeeves: "Stummer Zeitungsverkäufer" or mute paper vendor. Don't say Germans aren't imaginative, I would call it a paper vending machine, totally disregarding the "mute" bit.

ok now I've been out of the house and come back and MT, it was the ABENDZEITUNG not the Tageszeitung that had that headline. The Abendzeitung is organized completely differently online than in print though, I couldn't find that article at all.
MonksTown
I saw it was the AZ on the way home. rolleyes.gif
TZ was about Stoiber.

So AZ must be tieing with TZ now on crappiest headline.

AZ quality has gone right down in last few months imvho.

Bild had the best/worst headline of all times when Saddam was found: "Aus dem Erdloch gezerrt - und rasiert!" (Pulled out of a hole in the ground - and shaved!)
Editor Bob
The AZ had an article yesterday about how the small Bavarian town of Marktl has been thrust into the media spotlight ever since Papa Ratzi became pope.

And the headline?

"Media Marktl"

Thought that was quite good.

Just last week the Süddeutsche Zeitung was saying that his home town has been vermarktlt.
