My wife and I just got here a couple of weeks ago. Now we're just starting to run again after the choas of the move. As a goal we were thinking of doing a 10k in Nov./Dec. if we can find one. The other goal... drink as much beer as possible and stay in something resembling fitness.

What's the scoop? Thanks gang.

I am not absolutely sure, but I think that you might be hoping in vain. With snow not being an impossibility in November and December in Munich, I don't think there are any running events in Munich itself or in the closer surroundings -- most people start preparing for the cross country skiing races with the first ones in December.

A place to check is www.davengo.com

Just type in your postcode, select the distance you're willing to travel and get your shoes on.

Sweet! Thanks guys.

Cross-country ski racing. Ugh! Let me tackle one thing at a time. O.K.?

Thanks for the link Yeti...didn't see that page before.

No worries Canuck, I don't have any excuses for not training now.

There's a 10k on the outskirts of Munich (near an S-bahn stop) on I think the 13th of November. I can't remember any more details, I've a flyer at home that I'll try to remember to bring to work tomorrow.

I did the web search from Yeti's link and didn't find much beyond mid-Oct. So, if Hippo can fill in the blanks we might be set. Thanks.

Remembered it today...

31st Teufelsberg-Crosslauf
13 November, München-Lochhausen (S-bahn station on S8 line)
Organised by esv-neuaubing

The main 10K (there are also shorter distances and nordic walking wacko.gif earlier) starts at noon. It costs €8. I can't work out from the form if you have to register in advance, but I'm guessing that you should be able to just turn up on the day.

I think I'll take part. Should we try to put together a Toytown contingent?

If I'm around I'ld be up for it.

Crap - in Frankfurt that weekend, really want to try a 10 K this year still...

Oh well...any other 10 k anywhere around Munich? Looked at Yeti website and didn't find any around our area...but would travel to give it a go...
