It was interesting to visit the Event Arena in the Olympic Park (Tram 20 - stop Olympic Park West) to see the crowds of people lining up waiting to be hugged by Amma.
The atmosphere is very peacefull and the Indian food very tasty. Of course there is a commercial side to it too, however the money goes to a good cause.
I didn't feel the need to be hugged by Amma...just interested to see what it was all about.
But I am sure there is no harm in it and it cost nothing. The event continues until Tuesday evening.
Take some wolly socks as you remove your shoes at the entrance. You can also take a cushin or a blanket to sit on and if you want a hug you have to take a number!
OM Namah Shivia!

Her message is love and compassion...Universal Love...
It is not really something you can explain...can you really explain love and compassion in words?
Anyway it is an experience to meet her...but I am a beliver there is a message from most people we encounter if we are open to it.
There is meditation going on during the event in a separate area.
There are two sessions each day; one in the morning and one in the evening where they all meditate together and sing Mantras (Satsang) and do Pujas (Hindu rituals). I did yoga for a few years so it is not all to foregin to me. I like the idea of their program as they are accepting of all religions.
Religion for me is nevertheless a bad word as it means union with God and I am not a God person.

Just looked at your profile. Ikebana.. that's either the art of flower arrangement or of making tea, I can't remember! Which is it? Do you do Kendo on Schulstrasse?

Ikebana the art of flower arrangement.
No, I have not been to the school on Schulstr. I practice Kendo only off and on with a Japanese Roshi who visits sessions here from Japan twice a year.
At the moment I am consentrating on the Alexander Technique but the Japanese Martial Arts are my basis.
There is Cado and Chado one is to do with flowers and the other with the tea ceremonie (I am bad on names)
I'll have to check out your profile :-)

I have a friend that lives in the Ashram in India with Amma. She dropped out of university in the the US to go to visit Amma and ended up becoming a devotee. I went to see her while she was with Amma on her European tour. if you want more info on Amma you can ask me or visit her website at--
