Just chomping on some grapes for lunch and I was wondering, should I eat the seeds ? I don't think my stomach and it's bile can digest them (not that I've check my stools, but I could).
(nice new fancy poll options..)

Don't eat grape seeds. You stomach can't digest them and in the warm, moist surroundings they germinate and before you know it you'll have vines growing in both directions along your alimentary canal! Bloke down the pub told me so.

It looks like all the bugs have not yet been worked out with the new poll options though...total votes: 33? shouldn't it just be 11?

i like grapes, but not the seeds. the germans seem to just chew or swallow them. i couldn't fathom chewing them cause they're so darn bitter. should one just swallow them or discreetly spit them out and put them in a tissue or something?

what about the option, if you do not eat the seeds, what do you do with them? Spit them onto the floor? Politely slip them into a napkin? Use them to grow grape vines?? Throw them?

Or maybe have a grape seed spitting competition?
@Wee Mun.. Well, you know. It would have either been me or 'er...
Well, actually, I used to work in the fruit and veg section of Waitrose many years ago and we were told to use those descriptions...
i had this dilemma yesterday. i usually avoid grapes here due to the seeds. if i'm with people i know then i dont care if I spit a few out (or at them really), but if i forget about the seeds and eat them whilst in new or polite company, i'll eat the seeds.
where are the seedless grapes?

I was crowned Redneck Queen in 2002 for my superior grape spitting abilities.
I hold the record to this day.

@32D. You will find them in most supermarkets. Thompson Seedless variety - one of the most popular table grape varieties in the world
Thanks Crawlie.
Finally proud owner of an understandable post.

Reminds me of the joke "Do you spit or swallow?...
...or do you eat seedless grapes?"

What a daft question.Grapes should be only used for making wine, red or white or rose, the seeds and skins should then be used to make Trester?, Grappa etc.. I`m only saying this ´cos I`m an Alky. Well nearly.
