people...

need your help on this one...

i recently bought a car in munich, that is registered in koln.

i received three items - a small ownership paper, a large ownership paper and a sales deed copy.
the car seems to have its TUV and emission done till mid 2007.

i called up some insurance guy and received couple of papars that should allow me to register the car.

now, going through my preparation list, I am not sure if I need a written document that says TUV is passed as well as emission. All I have is the stickers on license plates. Are these stickers good enough??? I have not received any other TUV / emission certificate from the seller. Do i need these two papers also?

(back in california / new york everything was in the system...!)

also, i have the license plates from the seller on the car. do I have to take them to this KFZ office and will they keep those or return them?
Will they give me the license plates right away? (I hope so).

Does anyone know what happens to out of city license plates?

It seems from today there is some crunch going on at the registration office and it might take a day or two.
If they take my current plates and dont give the new ones, I am not sure how to drive back from that office with no plates.

Thanks!!
