What can expect from the Landlord regarding prospective tenants etc?
I have only been here since February and we are returning home to Ireland. Unfortunately our German is dire and we have had 50hours of lessons!
I have a few questions:
1. There are several threads here regarding pension contributions etc, can
anyone recommend a good english speaking official that can advise on contributions, transferring back to Ireland etc.
2. Can we stop contributing to the medical insurance now?
3. Can anyone rec a good removal company, we are based near Stuttgart?
4. I was unfortuantely unemployed for my stay here, I claimed 3 months of my stamps when i first arrived but did not return to the job centre to seek additional money as i have not worked here. Do i need to return there to sign off? Would deregistering be sufficient?
5. When do we need to fill out a tax form? Is it true that you may be entitled to tax back or have to pay extra depending?
Is there any other things that I need to sort out?
Looking forward to your responses,

Most of your questions can be answered either with a search of the board (do a full search, as the quick search only includes the titles of the threads), or by asking your local officials directly -- email the Arbeitsagentur to find out about deregistering etc., for example.

For example: "removals near Stuttgart" -- search for removal recommendations and then look to see if those companies have offices in Stuttgart.

For tax advising, you can look at our Advertisers page -- there are tax and pension advisors available there.

Ditto what Gen said.

Also, a general point for all regards maximising TT forum experience: it's better to have one separate topic for each, erm, topic.

For example...

removals belongs in a removals topic,

tax returns belong in a tax topic,

pensions belong in a pensions topic.

But again, as Gen says, all these topics exist already. Just gotta search 'em out and if your specific situation isn't covered then post a reply to the relevant topic.
