Hi everyone

Im just wondering what school do your children go to? The only ones that i've found are way too expensive for me (the MIS and the BIS) as well as being quite far from the part of munich i live in, and the European School would sound perfect but at the moment they dont take on any "outsiders", and even when they do, i think the places are very limited.
I'd like to hear from your choices and experiences, regarding schooling in and around munich.

Thanx.

My oldest are in the Munich city system - the oldest (8) just started third grade, the youngest (4) is in Kindergarden. Both are completely bi-lingual.
The only other choice that I know of is Montessori - but I only know people who have taken their children out of there.

Tell us more, DD. Why did they take them out? Due to moving back home or not being satisfied by the school?

In the search field in the top-right corner, I put in the keyword 'schools' and found the following link : International schools - Teaching in English
There are also other relevant topics if you search for that word which might help you.

I think the reason might be that there are Montessori Grundschule and Hauptschule, and all people I know are avoiding by any means that their child is sent to Hauptschule, becuase as some of my friends expressed it "If you go to Hauptschule, your life is basically over" i.e. you can go to university (if university now could be any guaranty for happiness;)) only if you have Abitur and that you get from Gymnasium, High School. But it's very difficult to transfer children from Hauptshule to Realschule or Gymnasium.
