thanks for the verification Yeti!
yeah it's Italian weekend this weekend innit...gah! two of my school mates are over and think the cycling shorts thing sounds like a good idea...one of a.m.mates got picked up like a bowling ball by a manky Italian who thought he was a gynaecologist or something last year.

Scousers chics wear underwear (other than those string things which you can wear over the hip showing off your nicks choice) ? Spreading misinformation Tsk tsk
Showem
Reviving this thread and bringing back all the shoe fetish memories.

I want to get a pair of Trachten shoes. Or at least find a shop that has more than one pair to choose from. Regular shoe shops are useless. The best of the worst was Angermaier (at Donnersbergerbrücke) with nothing much and the Trachten section at Hertie am Karlsplatz. Online has also proved fruitless.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm thinking I might need to head a bit out of town to find something, but I'd like a direction to head.
Katrina
Tried the Loden Frey outlet?
PS why I am not surprised at who is writing about kinky boots? *raises eyebrow*

@ showem
at home, I wear my dirndls with "character shoes".
If you dont know what they are:
Basically they are girl tap shoes without the taps that are worn for Jazz type dances or also during plays.
I found them at dance stores at home. I dont know what they have out here as far as dance stores, but I am assuming that modern dance around the world is all the same so if there is a dance clothing and shoe store here, they should have these shoes.

Showem
Are they comfy? Or do you have to have hardened dancing feet to wear them?

Katrina, yes, I did try the Loden Frey outlet. Zero shoes. Didn't even have a good recommendation of where to look.
Katrina
If you also get stuck, Palanzky wedding shop in the Sendlinger Tor (actually in the Tor itself) does wedding shoes including those dancers' ones and will dye to order quickly.
Dancing shoes like that don't have points in them, I have a pair, really comfy mine are. Try here too, I've been past it, it looks pretty big.
Daisy
The first pair that I purchased were not so comfy. After a long day of dancing my feet did indeed hurt.
I ended up buying those gel pad inserts from Dr. Scholls to absorb the shock.

The second pair I bought was a different brand and had more cushioning on the bottom where the balls of my feet were. And those did not hurt.

Try them out in the store, which has more cushioning and what not and if you are not sure, by the inserts. In the states they also come in different heel sizes going from 1.5 inches up to 2.5 inches with .5 inch increments.

Yes, I am going to half seriously suggest C&A for this one, even though I *think* I know what you want them for. I was in there a couple of days ago and noticed that their Tracht section is open all year round. Now, their dirndls are atrocious, but I happened to notice that they have shoes as well... perhaps worth a look if you're getting desperate?
Gen
I have exactly those dance shoes in the picture above and got them from a dance place in Schwabing -- maybe the street Mario's is on, must check. Well, can't find it, but they're comfortable. I do want to get some of those gel pad things though, I've been to several German weddings where people dance until sunrise, and gee, you do get tired.

Classic shoes from a classic shop -- basically similar to the dance shoes.
Daisy
A little update on the shoes I mentioned above...

I was walking home from the Pub Quiz last night, and along the way I walked by a dance clothing store. They had the exact same shoes that I wrote about in the window display! So I know they exist here in Munich!

Anyhoo, it is on Adalbertstrasse (sorry I didn't note the exact address!) between Schraudolphstrasse and Leopoldstrasse. Basically if you leave The Arc, go north, turn right on Adalbertstrasse, it is on the right hand side before you hit Leopoldstrasse. About half way down.

Right, that's the same street Mario's is on. We're getting closer!

hmm...last year's comfy boots died and now I am looking for new dirndl footwear. never thought to wear tap shoes without the tap cuz they are well comfy (I own tap shoes already but they are tapped!) thanks for the tips!
Jenny L
I just realized my comfy shoes are shot too. sad.gif Think I'm going for the knee-high boots. With some Party Feet in them, they're alright to walk around in.
Moonboot
you go girl! biggrin.gif I bought some new ace boots but tried em out for a few hours last week and they're no-go (ouchy!) got some ballet pumps on for work today which I'm testing.
Showem
Just so you know, I read that boots with short dirndls is very passé this season. In case any of you are such fashion demons.
Jenny L
Ah well. My dirndl's fairly long, so I'm alright. smile.gif
nuwoman
Ballet pumps are DEFINITELY the trendiest shoes this year to wear with your Dirndl.

I'm giddy because I just bought a purple Dirndl and today looking through my closet found a pair of purple Doc Marten mary janes that I had forgotten I even had!

Where did you get this purple Dirndl from because I want one!
dcsoxgirl
I wish they would show more pictures of the shoes that the ladies wear with dirndls. Last year I wore cowboy boots with a mini dirndl. I got a new dirndl this year and without thinking about the shoe impact I decided on emerald green/white checks with pink accents. Nothing looks right with that combination!

Black shoes are too dark and white shoes are not my thing and pantyhose with either and that color combination looks funny. I'm thinking maybe some lace up black boots? Or some t-strapped shoes I saw...

If anyone has seen any good dirndl pics lately, that actually show the shoes, please share!! Funny how they always seem to cut off the feet and focus on the 'upper half'. rolleyes.gif
Moonboot
I'm also a bit stumped re. dirndl footwear, my feet were in bits last year. I might just go 'alternative' this year and wear comfy trainers.
Eleanor Rigby
Mary Janes are always a safe bet.
cabbagefairy
Seems like its going to be a sloshy wet oktoberfest this year. Bring on the boots!
Moonboot
where'd you get your MJ's ER? I have stilleto-ey ones but maximum I can stand in them (let alone shake my Moonbooty on OF benches) pain-free is an hour or so, even with the numbing effect of beer sad.gif
dcsoxgirl
Muck boots.. now there's an idea!
Eleanor Rigby
Hmm. Can't remember, I bought them a few years ago but I've seen them in plenty of places, both with high and low heels.
Moonboot
I'll mosey down the shops then, try to get a low-ish pair! thanks! smile.gif

I do like the fishnet look with dirndls (Hertie have loads on offer at the mo)...and it's not too hot either (in the temperature sense!)
Owain Glyndwr
thigh-high FMBs combined with a very short porno-dirndl are definitely the look to go for.

I wouldn't reccomend wearing some of those heels in the pig-pen!
dcsoxgirl
thanks for the shots Marka.. lots of ideas there. My google searches were not so productive!
marka
How about these for some serious table stomping Wies'n merriment !!
marka
Proof positive that knee high boots are the way to go at the Wies'n
Seattle2
Excellent pic!

Now, just need a pair of boots, a dirndle and a much higher tolerance... hmmm. blink.gif
