I have a friend coming from the UK for the weekend and she is keen to dress up in a dirndl.
Is it possible to rent them and from where? COuldn't find anyone else with this question on Toytown.

well, i wouldn't bother renting, even if you could. Check out the second hand stores. Even new ones can be had for a little as 69 euros.

Which Pat's did she go to?

dunno, tbh - she just turned up in the pub with it last night
the bag said "ReSales" on it (which is what Pat's is called now), but I don't know which branch she went to

What a great new business idea - I could rent out my dirndls that I don't fit into any more
What size is she

That was me with the 70 euro Dirndl (70 including the blouse and apron)... I got it in the branch on Sendlingerstr. close to Marienplatz. We went to a bunch of secondhand shops and most of them had a good selection and nice prices as well. I was a bit surprised that there are so many pretty Dirndls left this close to Oktoberfest.
@ Saan
Thanks! Went their last year to get a last minute dirndl and it was like a feeding frenzy in a piranha pond. Maybe I'll manage to go there early in the day.

We were shopping in the late afternoon and these places were busy but not *really* busy. Certainly not like a feeding frenzy in a piranha pond!

Hi!
Just wondering if someone knows where four swedish women could rent
dirndls for the Oktoberfest? Could be in the region Munich or Bad Tölz. Or even at Internet.
Help! :-o
Please...

It would probably cost more to rent than to just go get a cheapy one at one of the mass dirndle shops

I think DDBug is right. You can pick up a cheapo at
Angermaier for less than a rental cost + the inevitable dry cleaning bill.

But I don't recommend Angermaier for a cheap one...most of their
dirndls are quite expensive. Check out Wies'n Tracht und Mehr im Tal (by
Marienplatz). Daniel will fix you up!
or right across the street is a second hand shop that has really cheap ones too. Kleidermarkt.

If you four Swedish girls would like to take part in an action video I am making using the
dirndls at least in the first part of the video, you can borrow them afterwards.
Deal?
Come with braids.

was at Trachten und Mehr im Tal today (next to the Seb bank) they have
dirndls on sale on a stand outside for 20€ (the same one I bought last year for 60€) blouse is €15, apron is €15 so the whole outfit for 50€. bargain!
there's also a branch next to Pizza Hut on
Sendlingerstr.

I have a
dirndl for sale (will make official post later). 75 Euro, size 38, includes blouse, apron, and I'll throw in an edelweiss necklace. It is Brown knee length with light blue embroidery...
