Just thought i'd start a positive, happy post since it's hump day and all downhill to the Oktoberfest start biggrin.gif

For the last couple of months and particularly the last week or so, the amount of jobs being offered to people in my line ( aerospace ) has been incredible including Munich, hamburg and all over Europe.

Is it the same in all job sectors at the mo and we all gonna get rich or are we just lucky ??
Keydeck
Telecoms is picking up again. Has been for the last 6 months or so. Slowly but surely. I've no doubt we won't get back to the situation existing in the 95-99 period but it's certainly a big step up on 12 months ago.

so do people think it is now (or alwasy was) easy (easier) to move from one English-speaking international firm to another within Munich?

Whatever you decide, do not think about joining the banking sector. The white collar business is going downhill massively...

The social sector is going further and further downhill as well. The money simply isn't there for, for example, youth work or whatever...

Jobs in the Software and Electronics sectors are definitely on the increase. But a simple search on www.jobpilot.de would reveal that most of these jobs are through Engineering Consultancy Services companies.

German companies have the money to spend, but are being very cautious I guess.

Business intelligence is still in the dark ages here, and does not look like getting any better frankly - unless you class SAP BW as Business intelligence, which from what I gather, would be naive and laughable.

Sounds like 50/50 on this thread so far?

But then maybe those in the busy sectors are too busy working to be chatting on this forum???

p.s. "Just thought i'd start a positive, happy post " - didnt last long!!!

German employers are outsourcing their recruitment acitivities so you won't see much in the papers. Jobpilot has way more, but even their placements are those of agencies. I have been approached by a couple of agencies lately and news has it that the market, at least in my field, that being finance, is rather buoyant.

Jobpilot is now part of monster.de BTW

For me working through an agency is no problem, i would never ever be permy / festangestellt ever again but each to their own.
