Hello all,
My name is Gareth andI'm an alcoholic I live and work in the Darmstadt area of Hessen.
The reason I registered on here is to pass on my experiences of a particular company in Munich, in the hope that it may prove useful to someone else in the future.
I've been in Germany since around March of last year and have consistently been told by several ISP's and also by Deutsch Telekom that it was not possible for me to have a DSL connection in my apartment.
Out of desperartion I checked the forum to see if anyone could help. On there I found a link to a company called Eventful Communications.
With little expecation I fired off an email to them explaining my situation and asking them if they knew of any alternatives in terms of getting me an DSL connection. I received a response back within a few hours, asking me for some specifics about my phone line and apartment.
Within a week I had confirmation from Event Comms that they had arranged for my apartment to be supplied with a DSL connection, something nobody else had been able to do, even T-Com! A week or so and several email exchanges later, I am now connected up to the internet on a nice 1Mb DSL line, much better than my old 28.8K modem!
My thanks go to Eventful Communications. The communication from the off was excellent - helpful, clear, concise and, above all, accurate. That they were willing to help out someone who doesn't even live in Bavaria only adds to the positive feedback!
If you are new to the Bavaria region and are looking for assistance in setting up an internet connection, speaking from experience I would suggest giving the above mentioned company a call.

Still in a daze from the speed and efficiency of wonderful Eventful - within an hour the horrible mad spaghetti tangle of wires and obsolete connection boxes on our floor (result of us adding a bit here, joining up something else there over the years) was sorted out, updated and upgraded, reinstalled, broken bits replaced, whole lot neatly fixed to the wall and the router/Internet/phone/fax all up and running perfectly. Friendly, expert, efficient. Highly recommended!
Hah! At last I get to use that ultimate TTword AWESOME. These guys are awesome, so they are. Crusoe and I now bow to the lovely unit on the wall which the young man from Awesome Eventful installed yesserday. No, not the wall - the unit! This is our Mantra:

After messing once again with the computers at home and being desperate for a few days I was recommended to use the services of Spiderpig. I can say that I was not dissapointed at all. Professional and quick!! And actually a really nice guy!!! I really recommend using his services for any internet connection problems etc...
