Tracht trends

What's selling well this year

Every year I like to go around the various Trachten shops and find out what this year's trends are.
Angermaier appear to be really pushing orange this year with either classic dark tones or shades of green also doing well.
Similar story at Hertie in their Trachten-Eck - apple green being a strong trend although orange was again their fashion colour.*
Loden-Frey have chosen turquoise, apple green, violet, black and navy for this year's Wiesndirndl.
There's a lot of tone on tone about with aprons being the same colour as the dirndl too. And the just-covering-the-knee length is proving popular.
In the second-hand places, pink (baby pink or especially black with hot pink) was the big seller, although apple green was also sold out in some outlets.
Nice article in minga.de about Tracht shopping too.

PS I haven't been to Skandal so someone else will have to do reconnaisance there
*but please people, orange drindl plus orange sunbed tan, it's a NO (actually orange sunbed tan is a NO per se you you know what I mean)

Thanks! I was out hunting today at Salzburger Trachtenladen and at Kaufhof -- lots of pink, yeah. Bleah. Red white and blue too, which I certainly wouldn't wear. The ST was out of very dark blue, guess I'll check out Loden Frey for the navy. Lots of pastels in the cheaper places, but actually there always are, right?

These dirndls are beautiful ...and very sexy. I love the red ones and the orange was certainly interesting. I usually prefer the traditional green. Are these shown of good quality? Which is the best vendor? At any rate, I would love to have a new dirndl. biggrin.gif

Well all of the firsthand places listed will be of good quality (probably Loden Frey being probably the top of that list) but a good one can still be found secondhand.
I was in Kleidsam on Friday and although they didn't have much in terms of full Drindls they did have some lovely skirts and waistcoasts (mainly in size 36-38 and 42+). I bought a Trachtenhut, lovely Linden green with huge feathers, I am smitten with it.
I have my eye on a Linden green felt cloak in there too... not for the Wies'n though.

I have a green loden coat I got at Loden-Frey, forest green. Linden green -- do you mean Lindgrün? Isn't that an awfully bright green, like a Granny Smith apple green?
