Epic match last night between Blake and Agassi!

Caught the last 5 games on TV early this morning. Great match. I was cheering so loud for Agassi that I woke up Gabi...uh, oh..
Oktoberfest B&B

Funny, I must be one of the very few who can't stand Agassi! Arrogant git!
Tim
Andre? Arrogant? Are we talking about the same guy?

Federer vs Hewitt semi-final was also great.

Would have been great if hewitt won fourth set.

Even though I have an allegiance to Federer from a Wilson standpoint, I will definitely be pushing for Agassi to win tonight. The reality is that there isn't an active player that can match Federer on hard court from a technical standpoint, but anything is possible when a player of Agassi's skill has 40-50,000 New Yorker cheering on every single point, not only because he is the sentimental favorite because he close to the end of his career, but also today being September 11th, will make the match electric...that is unless Federer dominates the first set and takes the crowd out of it.

BTW...after seeing Agassi at the Open for several years up close, I would say that he is one of the LEAST arrogant players on Tour, but most only remember him from his early 20's., so I can understand the impression. The truth is, most men in their early twenties are arrogant assess. To the contrary, I think the most arrogant player on Tour (but not for long, thankfully) is Henman. I have never seen a player abuse ball-boys/girls than he did at a Davis Cup event in Austria last year. Verbally abusing 10 year old Austrian kids who VOLUNTEER to pick up little balls while that jackass drops the F-bomb on them over and over. I am happy to see the new Brit, Murray, has not followed suit.

I think that comes from the "So close, yet still a loser" syndrome. tongue.gif

Another chap who might qualify is our favorite Brit (you can keep him folks) Greg Rusedski... hate that guy.
obelix
lol...ok, I agree about Rusedski, but Henman is also known as one of the nicest, most polite guys on the tour!

And Agassi...yeah I dunno, it's not just because of his early days. I've seen several matches where he's really lost it and screamed at umpires and called them idiots and so on. I've never liked him though, ever. Loved it when Sampras was around and kicked his arse all over the place most of the time.

Favourite is Federer of course but I also wouldn't be suprised if Agassi pulled off a major upset...unfortunately.

Now his wife on the other hand...love her! Best female player of all time in my opinion.

Congratulations to Federer.

Well, while I admire Agassi for coming this far, his 35 year old legs were no match to 24 year old Federer and it showed clearly. The fourth set was a mere formality cuz Agassi was barely moving. Anyway, he gave a good fight in the first three sets but five double-faults? blink.gif

Edit: Steffi still looks ravishing by the way wink.gif

nice to see kim clijsters (sp?) winning, as well
agassi played a fantastic second set, but was no match for federer - he's surely now one of the all-time greats
