Swimming pools closed for refurbishment

Anyone know for definite if the training pool at the olympiabad is open to the public? and if so, it normal opening times?

The main pool is closed for a refit and it looks like dantebad is too for the nex couple of weeks.

they closed the Volksbad for refurbishment a few weeks ago too altho it's open again now; perhaps they're giving all the baths a good seeing too before the autumn/winter-season kicks in.

Haven't seen it with my own eyes...but it says here that the smaller training pool is open. The main pool was shut down for 6 weeks so it's hard to believe the smaller training pool is shut as well.

Asíde...If you look at the webcam for the main pool...one thing is missing. The Pool. Where the hell is the pool?? Huh?

Yes, the training pool is open, normal opening hours (and not that full either). I think the big pool is open again next week (12th?).

@canuck - that is weird. I think they must have it covered with a tarp, which means, I guess that the refurbishment is still going on.

I think that the other "summer pools" in the Dantebad are still open - at least they are according to the SWM website. One of those looked as though it's 50m, if you are trying to do serious training.

Dantebad shut only the two pools which are normaly open in winter. You can still use the other 4 pools + 1 FKK pool.

heh? there are fkk pools at dantebad? i thought there was only an olympic-sized swimming pool and the "play" area pool with the whirly things and crazy mushrooms.
do you mean the colder-than-arctic-ass-freezing "dipping pool" outside next to the wood-cabin sauna?

Well, in addition to the main Stadion pool, there are actually 5 summer pools . One is the FKK pool which I guess is 50m. Not that I've been there

There are also 4 x 50m pools. 2 for children and 2 for swimming.

Only problem is that they are not lit and close once it starts to get dark.
Bit of a pain as I don't often get out of work til 7.

Anyway, I'll be off to try out the olympiabad training pool tonight.

I have been swimming in Westbad. The nice thing about the "Freibaeder" is that they seem to always have a lap swim area... sort of. No lane divisions, really; it's every man for himself, but if you're willing to keep your head up and watch for flailing arms, it can add an extra dimension to the swim.

Hi, just want to add that Olympiaschwimmhalle's 50m pool is open again. I was there last week. Better than the crappy training pool.
