Munich is not real. It's an ideological town where everything is perfect. The environment is clean, crime is very low, and the public transport runs on time to the second. Yes, the quality of life here is very high.
Fully Agreed. But.
Yesterday, in front of PizzaHut, there was a street brawl between 2 group of girls.
It got a bit wild. The management at PH moved those girls away. After some time the fight got worse. Since they were talking in Deutsche, no clue what it was all about. Later Police and Ambulance were at the scene.
But what got me shocked was that one of the girl was carrying a 15cm knife hidden in her back with her. And she was prompting her friend to use the knife.
Do you carry a knife with you? Is it normal to carry one?

Scary stuff !!! Currently seconded up to Hamburg and it's fairly normal to see stuff like that on The Reeperbahn, esp St Pauli / Hans Albers Pl, but never expected to hear about it in Munich

Was in London a couple of Christmas's ago staying at a mates in New Cross (for my sins) and were in a kebab shop when a group of 15/16 year olds walked in.
After ordering and receiving their food they paid all but the last 50p or so. When the bloke behind the counter asked for the money one of the kids pulled a knife ands started shouting 'Go on make me'.
I did ask my mate if I should just twat the little shit but he said now wait, this sort of thing happens here quite often and to just watch the response.
Fair enough from out the back came a couple of blokes with massive carving knives (guess they come in handy in a kebab shop). Kids paid up pretty quick and left leaving me reminded of the scene in Crocodile Dundee 'That's not a knife...'
Moral. Never pull a knife in a kebab shop.
Still, haven't heard of it in Munich before.

Well, this could be a stray incident as such. Seen a few fights like this involving girls. Not boys!

LOL Wibble, that's made my day that has
I'd moved back to London from LA one time, ready for anything, and a 15 yo with gold teeth pulled a knife on me as I was back from the offie, his friend offered to 'call his people' and have me shot. Pure gangsta shit, laughable.
I offered them a beer but they just wanted money, which I didn't have...

didn't mean it serious tho was just being sarky.
have never seen any knife action in Munich in my 14 yrs here but have seen the odd nasty fisticuffs tho, a lot of them in a Shitpit Irish pub called Paddy's that I used to work in, and at the Oktoberfest of course.

never seen any knife 'action' in sunny muenchen, but i was accosted outside a bar late one night by a young lad who wanted a fight because i wasn't german. after i explained that i liked living here and generally felt welcomed and hoped that if he ever went to britain he would have the same experience he apologised profusely and went on his way - bizarre (but nice).
She was in possession of knife. But didnt see them use it. Just to clarify, in case you imagined too much.

Heh in the first week I was here our secretary warned us against going clubbing in munich because of all the turkish people with knives.

Suggested we go clubbing in wasserburg instead, which we did. Now thats a Toytown!

Guns are for pussys. You wanna get up close and personal. Shooting somebody is rubbish. You want to swifly remove internal organs, and keep your target alive long enough to smell them frying gently in sage butter. Mmmm.
