I'm near Rosenheim and learning to speak German. Right now schools out so there are no more VHS classes until end of September.

Does anyone know of any other classes/groups that teach German as a second language? For example, my friend said she goes to a church on Monday nights that help foreigners learn German (sort of).

I know I can study on my own and all, but what fun is that? And a private tutor is just way too expensive. I'm open to traveling within a 10-15 mile distance.

Thanks!

Have you used the Search function above to check for courses and have you done a Google search to find courses?

For example German language course in Munich? and Learning German in Munich is some useful info.

According to Kza:

The last german course I did was a casual, fun, and never-ending course here in Rosenheim, and it was free. I believe it was sponsered by the catholic church actually, and it was located in the Ausbildungszentrum. There must be something similar in Munich.

theres loads of info on the various german courses and their pros/cons. not all of them will be closed right now.

in terms of free practise opportunities we have a practise german stammtisch every other week in munich, next one is tomorrow night at the Max Emanuel bier garden. i have no idea if that falls within your radius. theres also sprach duo which is a tandem program, you exchange conversation practise with another person wanting to improve their skills in your native language.

use the search words: german language courses, practise, tandem, sprach duo. that should get you started.

Mmm, bet thats fun.

Go out, get wildly drunk, there are normally shitloads of Germans about over here. Try Schwabinger 7 in Schwabing.
If you wanna be more traditional, a search on TT might be a good start.
