Homeless people in Munich

Does anybody know what the homeless people in Munich do? Are there places they can crash or eat? What does it take to be considered "homeless"? Apart from the obvious...

There are a number of institutional homes and hostels for the homeless in Munich and places where they can eat.

"Homelessness" is defined more broadly than literally living on the street.

There's a place near Hauptbahnhof but I can't remember what it's called. Also know that some of the swimming pools had a day (or afternoon) set aside so homeless people can come in and have a scrub up.
