Bugger. The tickets are sold out already. Guess I'll just have to try my luck at the Abendkasse or find someone who's selling one...

Even if they hadn't sold out of tickets, and even if you didn't have to go away on business, then you still wouldn't have seen Oasis last night. The concert was cancelled because Liam got into a brawl in a Munich club before the concert and broke several of his teeth.
Anyone happen to know in which club the fight happened?

Yeah, I saw on the net it was in the nightclub that is in Bayerische Hof. The Oasis webpage claims it was an "unprovoked attack" on the band members. Yeah...right. The Bayerische Hof just lets in any old dregs off the street.

According to the
Oasis website, they're rescheduling the gig, along with the Hamburg gig which was supposed to be tonight.
I'm not sure if I'd want to go and listen to Liam singing through a set of false teeth though...

There's a couple of different slants on this story. Sure, on the Oasis website and in a few other news sites it states that the Oasis boys were the victims of an unprovoked attack...
"Several members of Oasis and their entourage were the victims of an unprovoked attack by a group of youths in a Munich club last night, where they were during their European tour. Liam Gallagher sustained facial injuries, including several broken teeth, while two of the group's security guards were forced to seek hospital treatment, one after being knocked unconscious. The attackers left the scene before police arrived."
The poor little lambs.
Then there's a German news site saying:
"Witnesses told police the clash began at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday in the disco of the Muenchner Hof hotel, where the band was staying, when the band members were drunk and started pushing each other. One of them fell against a table where five Italians were seated, police said witnesses told them. When the Italians tried to remove the Oasis member, the rest of the band pounced on them, police cited witnesses as saying. Hotel security staff then separated the two sides and asked them to leave the nightclub. They called police when the fight resumed outside the building, and police said in a statement that Gallagher had pushed an officer in the chest, injuring him slightly."
And finally we have a statement from the ever friendly Polizei saying:
"Police say Oasis members picked a fight on Saturday night and have rejected claims on the band's website that they were victims of an "unprovoked attack" by a group of youths. Police say the singer allegedly kicked an officer in the chest before he was subdued and they are considering a charge of dangerous assault against him."
Let's see, does Mr. Gallagher have a history of violence...hmmm. Now I wonder which version of the story I'll believe. All I know for certain is that Oasis should seriously consider hiring a different security firm.

Yeah - It was the fault of a dodgy English band and a bunch of Italian tourists... no Germans involved at all. Wouldn't surprise me if the Brits think it was 'unprovoked' - it doesn't take much to upset an Italian!

In fairness if someone was pissed and messing about, superstar or not, and fell onto my table, I'd take action fairly quickly too, and I'm a peace-loving Irishman.

What do you mean by "take action", exactly? I've been pushed into people/tables by drunken friends before - I just apologise to the people I've been pushed into, and then move out of their way, and I've not been decked for it yet.

What probably happened is one of the Oasis party fell into the group of Italians, then started laying into one of them when they started to help him up off the table.

You just can't beat The Sun from a good drama.
"And all hell broke loose as one of the group was shoved into a table being used by five Italians — thought to be gangsters involved in trafficking prostitutes from Eastern Europe."

This story has finally been resolved.
From
The Scotsman yesterday...
A German court has added insult to injury for Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher by fining him almost £40,000 for his part in a drunken nightclub brawl that cost him his two front teeth.
Gallagher, 32, and Oasis band members became embroiled in the fracas two years ago during a tour, which started when they flicked peanuts at a group of businessmen and ended with the band bloodied, bruised and beaten after their targets fought back.
Oasis band members spent 12 hours in custody, and they were forced to cancel their remaining tour dates so that Gallagher could undergo extensive dental surgery, costing them £175,000 in ticket sales.
