So we are finally buying a new PC. What I want now are some new games to play. We have a store in Regensburg but I want to compare prices. So I did the search but found only dead links on TT concerning PC game stores. Does anyone here have any good recommendations? My girlfriend ( yes believe this!) wants also to buy a playstation 2 console so I would like also to shop for some games for that. A subquestion is can a PS 2 game from the UK be played on a German PS 2? I would think so but would like a known answer. I will be in Munich tomorrow to pick up painting supplies and would like to shop also for the PC games.

There are many PC/Console game stores in the computer store area of Hbf. They have tons of games, so stop by see what they have and ask them your ?'s when you get here..

If you want the ultimate PC game in my book it has be World of Warcraft - online only game so need DSL and there's a monthly subscription but it's so addictive you definitely get your moneys worth - at a cost to your social life.

PS2 games will play if bought in Germany but some are German language only. Would recommend GT4 if you like racing games and GTA San Andreas as an all round good game.

PC Fun ( think thats the name) is on Schilller Str. It has English games if thats what you are looking for. They are more expensive though. Worth buying a couple at the same time through Amazon UK if you want english speaking games

Gamezone have an outlet at Ostbf and Hbf and an online store.
UrbanAngel
www.play.com also has English computer games, and free delivery.

PC Fun is your best bet
either go to the store on Schillerstr, or check out their online store

Yes (read the admin crosslink at the top).
Mr.Mosh
both gamezone and PCFun are your best bet. The salespeople are all avid gamers and can tell you something about almost every game.
But I prefer gamezone because mates of mine run the website smile.gif

@Perdido...AquamanMeringuepie answered this but I order most of my games from AmazonUK and play them on my PS2 I bought at Saturn. They're all PAL format.

Battlefield 2 for the PC is the best game I have ever played.

Your girlfriend would probably love Sims 2

If you buy Battlefield 2 or Sims2 at a Media Markt or somewhere in Germany you have the option of installing the English version.

In all fairness, if I actually met anyone that enjoyed those bloody Sims games, I would be far more likely to bludgeon them to death with a stick than ask them to be my girlfriend. A game where you have to tidy up the bloody house, go to work, and flush the fucking toilet. Good god.

@Don Riina - I hope we never meet then biggrin.gif I hate computer games ; this is the only one I can actually play and which I own. A similar style game called The Movies is coming out end of October where you have different characters who are film stars and you have to look after them, make sure they have enough ego, they're happy etc, and you can create them as well as make your own films. smile.gif Each to their own wink.gif

Nah, would not want to bludgeon you to death with a stick, if for no other reason that I like the name UrbanAngel smile.gif
