German election campaign posters

Do they annoy you?

Those irritating Wahl posters are simply awful. What is most annoying are the teeth on all the politicians. The one for Stephanie Jung for example looks totally photoshopped white.

Have the kids started to felt tip gaps in the teeth near you?
Keydeck
My favourite was one I saw which said,

The only thing I could think of was:

RUN!!!
gideon
not only are they crap and crude and a real dumbing down and avoidance of political content, the put the fucker allalong the road side and especialy on junctions, it makes driving a little bit harder as you cant see pedestrians and cyclists and have a craop overview at a junction.
Darkknight
Actually the kids kick'em and rip'em down... And yes they annoy the hell out of me too.. 1 fricken sign is enough in the area, but no they have to put up 1 every meter..

A number of Stoiber ones sport Hitler moustaches (not from me I hasten to add).

I notice the Linkspartei are getting destroyed at a very fast rate, it seems the right have got a real complex about them.

I hear that an anarchist pub in Berlin was offering a free drink for every ripped down NPD poster the customers brought along and got raided by the poice as a result as that is illegal.

The most annoying one must be the SPD whinging "Sozialstaat Retten!" when they are the ones who've been doing the butchering.

The most off-the-wall one has got to be from the CSU's Hans-Peter Uhl that mentions "solidarität" blink.gif

Cleverest ones and the best "branding" are the Greens, imvho.

There's a lot of truth in that Gideon. I am a bit partisan but it is noticeable that the FDP and CSU posters have less concrete contents that the SPD or Greens:

For example:

SPD: Deutschland kann sich CDU/CSUl nicht leisten, Nein zu 2% Merkelsteuer"
CSU: Deutschlans Chancen Nutzen! or the one from keydeck above.

FDP: Mehr FDP, Mehr Arbeitsplätze
Green: Weg von Öl, mehr Sonnenenergie.

pretty negative campaigning though. How about your own ideas Gerhard?

Stoiber's been using the same damned poster for more than a decade and Bismarckplaty was drowning in them. When I lived in Regensburg, I enhanced a few with "Seine Frau aber nicht."

woof.

STOIBER KOMMT?

Is this the masterbation thread or did I press the wrong button again?

Don't call me an SPD fan! tongue.gif

"Positive" slogans from the SPD have been "Sozialstaatretten" "Frieden ohne angst".

The general point I was making that the opposition parties have less political content than the current governing parties. We did the quiz thing at work and some colleagues were AMAZED that their personla opinions actuall best matched the SPD. They were going to vote CSU or FDP simply based on empty slogans and image...

They annoy me most of all because they constantly remind me of the fact that I am not allowed to vote here and would love to put Angie back in the box. Drove past some right-wing NPD and REP posters yesterday, "work for Eastern Europeans but HartzIV for Germans!" or "gegen Fremd Arbeiter". Y-a-w-n! The MLPD is very funny at least. Always makes you smile "30 Stundenwoche bei vollem Lohnausgleich" or "Vertrauen ist gut, Kontrolle ist besser".

I noticed the other day that the SPD poster frames are made of wood, while the Green party uses metal. Shouldn't that be the other way round? unsure.gif
Kza
Why? You have to cut down a tree for wood, and your recycling options are minimized. With metal chances are it was made out of scrap metal to start with, and can be given back as scrap after its finished.

They don't annoy me as much as the scads of f'n election signs in the US. I have never seen as many as there. Of course it is the democratic land of the free... for better or worse cool.gif

Posters should be illegal. They are a blight on the landscape. What is the message of any party? Merkel posters just say "for change". Change into WHAT? Nobody stands FOR anything.

Politics and politicians are to be reviled by all. With the CSU/CDU Germany will go further down the path to becoming a "mini-America". The rich get richer, the poor get the picture... higher taxes, less worker rights, reduced medical coverage, etc. Sound familiar??? Angie will be wearing a cowboy hat and butchering the German language soon...

Remember the infamous parade float with Angie and W?? It's becoming reality...

I thought these ones were a joke, but they're for real:

the Marxist-Leninist party Germany. Including the poster that says "Vertrauen ist gut, Kontrolle ist besser. V.I. Lenin"

I certainly hadn't thought he'd originated that saying. And the poster with Marx on it: The Original Socialists. Weird.

yeah, right
Gus
The worst thing about all of these stupid posters is that they cost lots of money!

The slogan should be: Keine Postern = Kein MwSt
