Big beard champions at the Oktoberfest

The World Beard Champions are going to be visiting the Oktoberfest this year!

The World Beard and Moustache Championships are taking place up in Berlin on Saturday 1st October 2005. On the prior Monday and Tuesday (26/27th September) the Team USA will be on tour in Munich. This team won nine trophies at the last world champtionships, in 2003. So keep an eye out for some of the largest and most elaborate beards you've ever seen!

The world championship event takes place every two years. This year it is being hosted by the Berlin Beard Club. The host club's star member Karl-Heinz Hille is looking to defend the overall world championship title he earned in Carson City, Nevada in 2003. Hille was also the overall champion in Sweden in 1999.
