In an effort to stop us binge drinking ex pats from the land of closing time ( formerly ), The german government is enforcing a speed limit this year,
maximum speed limit of 2 Mph, (Masses per hour).
Anyone caught going over the speed limit will be made to pull the little yellow carts around for an hour.

i think this is totally an unfair speed limit. it should be like a dui sort of limit. where you take into account someones body mass and ability to handel alcohol, i know some people that are blitzed after one mass, however some other people arent so. this 2mph is definately something i am not in favor of.

drinking is a marathon event, not a sprint. 2Mph is quite reasonable. I don't know many people who can keep that up 8 hours a day, for 16 days.

its all about the principle of the matter. its not what you can actually do. i, being a pure newfie, have never touched alcohol in my life.

To someone who hasn't been to the Wies'n the idea of 11 Mass in one day might be somewhat in-credible; for those of us who have got to a tent at 10:00am, ate 3 chickens, five giant pretzels and drank (more or less) at 1 Mph, the idea seems a little more doable. And I plan on doing it several times this year
