Clubnight & English Comedy - Isar Lounge 9.Sep.05

Roberto Q Ingram's Celebration of Life

At the Isar Lounge (right next to the IMAX cinema) on 9th September Roberto Q Ingram presents his annual "celebration of life". Part comedy night (in english!), part club night, I will definitely be heading to this one to see detroit house legend Tyree Cooper and Daz-I-Kue from Bugz in the Attic.

Don't know much about the comedy show, apart from that it's in English, but the name Wayne Child who is one of the performers definitely rings a bell...

Fingers crossed also for good weather because the Isar Lounge has a big open air terrace with spectacular views down the Isar. Let's hope that the whole Museuminsel hasn't been swept away in the torrent by then!

NB... As far as I can figure out this event is also being broadcast on FM4 for those who can't make it to Munich.

rumor has it Toytown's Texas Tornado just might be doing a stand up set. I hear she can be funny when properly motivated with alcohol.

Somehow, I believe that, Tex Torn.. better get a plastic poncho, babe, tough room.
TexasTornado
actually jeff, I played Bayerischer Hof and the English Comedy Club with these comics. had fun both times. If three truly is a charm then we'll be pissing ourselves laughing. It's about music and the DJ'S, the comedy is the side dish. Isar lounge is a fantastic venue! Should be a fun night.

This party sound very interesting tonight. Anybody else going? Do not know what the door charge is. Weather looks good and Isar Lounge is out side, should be fun.

Hey stanford,

Flash at Ampere actually opens tonight, so no, I havn't been yet! Its literally over the road from the Isar lounge though, so it's a good alternative venue.

There's loads of stuff on this weekend as Munich gears up for the oktoberfest, i'm off to the Nachtagenten 4th bithday party in Garden on Saturday night.
TexasTornado
alrighty kids, should be a fun night. dinner at 21:00, comedy show at 22:00 DJ's start spinnin' at 23:00.

Worm,

Thanks for answering. Went had a sh*t nite. We got there are there was a bunch of idiots doing tango...to house musik...which meant every one sat around and watched. It got going a bit but we left 1:00ish and went to Rote Sonne and that had great musik but a crowd that was too young (16 to 21) and not in ya face partying types -

So left there and went to Woanders...which was empty enuff that we could see that from outside. Decided to go back to Ampere and it was over by 3:00 even the Tango dancers had gone...!!!

I saw the Isar lounge across the way and didn't pop in...how woz it?

Are you going to Sanchez and Novy on Thurs...luckily I booked my flight for Weds so will be back in town and need a hard core party.

Stanford, The Isar Lounge was the place to be on Friday night. Sorry to hear you had such a crap evening. The Comedy Show was very well received and people were still dancing when I left at 4:30. I like how they switched DJ's each hour. and we danced and danced and danced...
stanford
Thanks Texas, not nice to know!!!

That exactly what I wanted to do...never mind I will make up for it with Sanchez and Novy...will you be going!!! It#s a skool nite but should be worth it...
TexasTornado
Stanford, I will most likely be on the home front as I own a restaurant myself. I get kitchen passes to perform stand up comedy. I schedule other passes for Toytown Tuesday at least once a month as well as the recently discovered curry night.
stanford
Thanks TexasTornado,

Unfortunatley, I'm normaly in London during the week at the moment so don't get a chance to go out in Munich on skool nites...only London!!!
But next time I'm working from home the whole week...I'll defo give it a shout. Especially as I've been in Munich for a year now and still haven't really got to know the city!!!
TexasTornado
Stanford,

I'm most likely old enough to be your mother. I could write you a note to get you out of school.

I too will be doing that London thang the first week of each month I'll be couch surfing at JoolyBooly's while trolling for comedy gigs.

sample note:

To whom it may concern;

Please excuse Stanford from work and school as he is fully engaged in life.

Sincerely,
Stanford's Mother

So got back late last nite 5:30 after a good nite at 8 saisons. It was packed with a mixed crowd of suits, lots of schwuliger hobbits (name we use to describe gays after watching Sam and Frodo in Lord of the Rings which must be the most camp relationship the world has ever seen!!!), and paris hiltons.

Was surprised that people stayed until 3:00ish so wasn't able to dance wild until there was enuff space on the dance floor for my special brand of house musik dance martial arts!!! Don't ask.

Must say that Tom Novy played a great set for about 40 mins and then was spotted legless on the coach a few minutes later...not sure if he'd started drinking before his set...could be as he did play a short blinder.

As for Sanchez mixed like a God but played a cheesy set...should have mixed it up with some rare grooves, soulful classics and anthems...Nevermind it is still good to see a good DJ mix...

Now've I've had my fill for of dancing for a week so I can relax for the weekend and then wait for Lord Dempsey and his german girlfriend's wedding; in Wurzburg...that should be a laugh as there will be loads of Irish (Lord Dempsey is a Irish Lord). No doubt dancing in their own celtic style. And with the other mix of german/persian, friends from Franfurkt (inc. maybe a few schwuliger hobbits), and the Munich bunch (which now includes me and my kumpel Bern)...we should be able to burn-up that dance floor...(in a head banging sort of way) as Lord Dempsey is a commited Rocker...only bands with a guitar get a look in!!!

Then the next week brings a wedding in Burnley which is for a cousin of mine who is a Policewomen...so that should be interesting...not sure if one get's married in Uniform like the Armed Forces...hope not...

Take Care Worm...and Texas...and keep it real...

Can't you tell I'm still suffering from the after effect of those vodka red bulls...!!! smile.gif

PS. Texas were's my sick note for skool today...good job I'm studying remotely...
Izabella
wow... if red bull gets that much info & exclamation points outta ya... wonder what a bump does tongue.gif

miss kittin is @ rote sonne tonight. never been to the venue and i've learned to be wary of live vocals... they usually distract and suck the life outta a set... either way, still thinkin of going... decent venue, anyone know?
worm
its...ok...but u really should be going to either moonbootica at the garden on saturday or...micheal mayer at harry klein. now theres a choice! tongue.gif

ps bella we are at wiesn tomorrow then garden if u are around!
