Jimbo, you have gas??? A gas hob???
Right, well I'll be round yours at some point with a wok and a bag of shit (alsho). And maybe even some ingredients too.
Could even stop in at
Wok-Man on the way and give them a lesson in how to do a simple stir fry noodle dish without making a total pigs ear of it.

Don, as I have said previously - the invite is pretty open mate. The idea of a night at mine for a few lads, with you kicking the night off with a bit of cooking, has been going about for a while...fancy it?

Oh right. It is like that then is it?
The evil male empire is striking back (with a wok and a gas hob) now is it?
No good will come of this (particularly as due to the misplaced apostrophe Jim will either be spending the evening alone or will let Don into his flat before leaving...).

That was me Katrina. Humble apologies. Thread was split from the
gas discussion. Apostrophe now placed correctly.

Sweet as a nut me ol' china.
I choose the fodder then, and its Malaysian. Couple of blisteringly hot curries, few veggie dishes, lovely. Washed down with a few litres of Bavaria's finest to be sure.
Weekends are all a bit pony and cluttered up with people visiting for the next few weeks, and you are going away a couple of weekends in february are you not?
We'll 'ave to have a bit of a rabbit abaat it daan the boozer.

@Katrina
How was the GNO on November 14th then??

Katrina
Feb 4 2004, 12:49 pm
Cheers Bob.
I am jealous though (because I like Malaysian food)

but have a lovely evening (and if you need some Asian shopping tips let me know because the place near me in
Neuhausen is great and gets air-shipped deliveries on Mondays and Thursdays).

PS Sparty, I just love a whinge so don't mind me

Katrina, I go Asian food shopping alot, but if you ever happen to see turmeric LEAF in this place near you, can you alert me to its presence? Only if you happen to go there of course.
And YES, Malay food is ace. Tastes of India, Thailand and China rolled into one. Maybe I'll cook for the GNO one time - then I can actually charge this Amistud character to be my commie for the night.

Maybe if you're nice to me katrina I might just also arrange a 'dinner' for a few people at mine - a little worried that it's a little small, but Foxy thinks the table will expand out - I've never tried mind you. Of course, all of that depends on being able to get Don Riina to chef at that as well...
@Don - you're dead right, I'm busy this weekend and the weekend after, but I will be back end of February...

PS What counts as "being nice"? I'd get clarification from a higher court for that one...
PPS I'm off this thread now so enjoy.
Well,
Don has been talking so much about his cooking: I'm in

just don't plan the event between 20-2 and 8-3 please

Feb 4 2004, 1:40 pm
You're in demand Don - fancy moving Toytown drinks at Gunthers to 'Toytown dinner at Jimbo's'. 10€ cover charge per head, you provide your own drink, Don cooks and I kind of float about the place doing not very much...

Feb 4 2004, 1:41 pm
If Don's cooking is as great as he makes out then there is no way I'm missing it. I'm away last weekend of Feb. though.

OK, so a weekend in March - my parents are down near the beginning of March mind you - perhaps you would like to cook for my Mum and Dad as well Don??

You could always combine the dinner with a game of Trivial Pursuit where when one answers the question wrong they have to take a shot.
Jimbo
Feb 4 2004, 2:56 pm
A shot at what exactly? Perhaps buy an air gun and then shoot some of these dastardly Eastern Europeans...

Nah mate. Kerplunk, Mousetrap or at a push Hungry Hippos.

If this is happening in my flat there is ONLY ONE GAME allowed - the mighty Monopoly. Perhaps Jordigo would like to fly in for this one and advise on investment strategies and so on...

Feb 4 2004, 3:19 pm
And which edition of Monopoly would that be?
Anyone heard of the Great Dalmuti (except for San)? That's even a better game to play in a group of people. The game has a motto: "Life is unfair!"
Big C
Feb 4 2004, 3:21 pm
Sounds like a game for Fusili at the moment!
I'll bring it allong,
it's way better than monopoly, doesn't take ages to play AND IS suitable for 5 to 8 persons

Feb 5 2004, 10:53 am
I prefer Shoots & Ladders or perhaps Candyland but whatever...
So how does boozing fit into your game again?

There's also been no mention of strippers...what kind a lads' party is this anyway?

All in good time - first of all we must arrange a suitable board game. And despite protestations from the Dutch corner, it's the London edition of Monopoly.
So, it's gonna be Malay food, lots of beer, a smoke for those who smoke, a game of monopoly and...some strippers. How many do you think we need? 5, maybe 6 should cover it?
I obviously have a girlfriend so I would sit in the kitchen and drink a beer whilst the strippers are on. Please make sure they don't knock the monopoly board over.

Hey!
I have Scattergories.
Ever played that?
I guess I'm heading back to the USA. You guys can have the game and not only that...
Piss in the box after you play.
Go ahead.

Nuffink wrong with a bit of window shopping JV my son.
I used to live in Asia though dude. If a stripper cannot do tricks with 6 foot lengths of chain, live budgies, or a small welsh corgi called Roy, I don't even get blood in it.

How many poles can you get installed by then?
As for a board game, what about Risk or Axis and Allies? Could be interesting given the international element. Imagine the smack talking possibilities!
Jimbo
Feb 5 2004, 12:17 pm
I don't want people taking smack.
But war games - now we're talking. The Dutch will be out in the first ten minutes though which is hardly fair...
