I noticed some advertisements for Radio NRJ on the billboards here in town. But the full name is Radio Energy. So shouldn't it be Radio NRG then instead of NRJ, otherwise it would be pronounced as "enerjay"...
...or am I missing something here...?

Radio NRJ is a Europe wide radio station which originated in France.
The NRJ stands for "National Radio de Jeunesse".
So yes, you are missing something.

That and if you were going with the letters, NRG would be pronounced En-er-gay! So unless your playlist is heavy on the Pet Shop Boys re-releases it's be a bit dodge.

As Lottie said, Radio NRJ orginated in France.
In French, the letter "J" is roughly pronounced like the English "G", hence "En-er-gy".

Furthermore the letter G in France is pronounced "jay", so that wouldn't work either.
NRJ in Munich is possibly the world's worst radio station. In fact I have yet to come across a decent radio station here.

http://m945.afk.de/ plays some excellent stuff half the time. The other half is complete crap; there doesn't seem to be a middle ground.
