Hans-Sachs gay street festival

What started off as a small celebration of the birthday of the Munich gay centre SUB has now turned into the absolute highlights of the social calendar, the Hans-Sachs Gay Strassenfest in one of the prettiest streets in central Munich

It's this Saturday, 20th August, so get yourselves out down to Glockenbachviertel!

There'll be a LOT of people, food and drink and a whole string of music and performers: Top of the bill are the ever popular Schwuplattlers with their Bavarian dances in Lederhosen.

Starts iirc at 3pm and goes on till 10 after which you can expect a MONSTER level of parties and events in all the local bars and clubs.

NB: For safety reasons, the entrance to Hans-Sachs Strasse from Müllerstrasse will be CLOSED.

Rumour is, that Sundays at 9 they are showing the American "Queer as Folk" without subtitles in SUB, Müllerstrasse 43 and allegedly there's a number of English speakers who turn up to watch it and have a few beers.

Two year old post that is just as funny today. Thanks for the laugh and cough and laugh and cough (that is what happens when you are sick with a head cold and damn does it hurt good except for the part when I am out of breath from laughing and coughing and about to puke). For safety reasons, once it gets full, the direct entrance Hans-Sachs corner Müllerstrasse is closed.
Just follow the crowds round the Kolleseumstrasse.

From experience, what's the best time to get down there for to see it at its busiest and liveliest?

Anytime from 1400, it'll be busy till ten if the weather holds.
