Concert: Weezer - 19.Aug.2005

Weezer is coming to Munich! Actually they're already here and complaining about the weather.

I'm off to the show alone or en mass but would certainly prefer some company. Tickets aren't cheap at 32,62 Euros but they put on a great concert; more than worth it IMHO.

Anybody else interested? I'll probably get tickets online tonight and pick them up at the door. As it's general admission if you don't get back to me tonight, don't worry about it, just buy them when you can.

Weezer my old favourites! I haven't heard any of the albums after Pinkerton though... Any one of you seen them before? Do they play any old goodies at their concerts?

I've seen them before - great show. So good infact that I'm catching them here and then again in the US in a few weeks.

I didn't end up buying tickets last night but I'm pretty confident there are some left. Muffathalle is a big place by Munich standards and it seems as though Weezer is virtually unheard of here.

I say we just all get tickets on our own (you can do it via the Muffathalle website) but meet up someplace before the show. Thoughts?

That's a good idea. Getting tickets for other people can sometimes become a real hassle. I might be up for this myself.

Fantastic band , you have my envy

Looks like we could be a big group going then - cool! I will check my finances, seriously broke after a week in Ireland (The pint is just not as cheap as it used to be...) but I haven't been to a concert in ages and I have never seen Weezer live so I think I might just have to go...

So where are we meeting up before the concert?

As for where to meet-up before hand, if the weather is good I suggest the Biergarten at Muffathalle. If not there's a couple of good options nearby (hey gen, where did we meet before Cake?).

Ticket buying:

I just went to the website to get my ticket but I couldn't find a Will Call option. I'm going to swing through the ticket dealer at Marienplatz and see if I can get them there.

Wasn't that place called Jam or something? It was a Pizza place / bar thing

I bought my tickets from the ticket place in the Marienplatz U/S-Bahn station. It's called Theaterkasse (I think) and the guy said there are a good number of tickets left. Cost was under 32 Euros,

I like weezer but I have to check my finances and think about it.

Lisa and I got our tickets a while ago and are up for meeting for pre-show beers.

Just saw them at Rock im Park, they were pretty kickass. I have played Hashpipe so many times in my old band, it was great to see how THEY do it live

At least Anwalt, Lisa, Special Tool and I are meeting at the Muffathalle Biergarten at 1830 assuming the weather holds out. Doors open at 19:30 but I doubt they'll be on stage much before 20:00.

I would definitely recommend Weezer tonight, I was at the Frequency Festival last night in Salzburg to see Oasis, who were great..., but Weezer were the last support act before Oasis came on and they were really cool... the trip was well worth it to see them alone..

That's correct.

The Muffathalle actually has an indoors bar itself too, so I suppose if it's raining that might be the easier place to move to from the Biergarten.

I'm gonna come for some beers before the gig with Arshoo so see you there at 6.30then I think we are gonna head to The Arc and then somewhere else.
