Hi,

I need to get the health insurance done for parents visiting Germany.

They would be staying here for 1 1/2 months, travelling around Schengen States.

Any contacts for the health insurane companies. ( munich )

I need to get the insurance done in the next 2 days.

thanks

Are they coming from India? I suspect the cheapest thing is for them to take out private travel insurance from an Indian company before they leave.

It depends ; for EU citizens, the E111 and E128 usually do the trick, and they're free.

I need to get the Insurance done from German Insurance.

Why?

@urban angel

they are coming from india...they would be staying for a much more time in germany than the dates covered in the Insurance from India...

therefore need to get the insurance done from German Insurance asap...

its not compulsory. mine are at the moment visiting and they have insurance from allianz bajaj. Its better and cheaper that way and they need to show their insurance when they go in for their visa.

I don't understand why you think they need insurance from a German company. I have travelled for months on end (backpackers travel for up to 18 months) and are fully covered by travel insurance *from their home country*. Not only does this cover medical bills, but also lost/stolen items, travel delays etc.

This would be *far* cheaper than getting insurance here in Germany. For example, visiting the US from the UK costs around 40 euros per month. Travel insurance from the AOK will cost several hundred.

they got the visa for a longer period than the dates mentioned in the Insurance papers.

They would be staying for a longer period, they are here in germany now. therefore cannot get the insurance done from india...

Oh.

I would still check that you can't get it done in India. If not, well then your question has been covered many times before.

i didnt read that before PMing u..if their insurance is not already expired then u can renew it with the agency u bought it from. just send them a letter with renewal dates and a check and they should renew it.
