Concert: Me First and the Gimme Gimme's

Me first and the Gimme Gimme's are playing at Georg Elser Halle on 31 August.

For those who don't know them, they basically play punk versions of well known songs. And from what I've heard, they're pretty funny.

At Eur17,80 it's pretty good value.

So who's interested?

Really good band, they have the best punk versions for the classicals.

ive got a cd or two of theres. very good stuff. punk versions of "somewhere over the rainbow" and "wonderful world" and many show tunes

That's really strange!! I was just talking about them to a friend yesterday, nobody has ever heard of them but I listened to one of their albums when i was on a tour the entire way across the states and never got bored of it, proper feel good stuff.

I'm particularily fond of their version of Sweet Caroline but I think I'm going to be out of the country that day. Gutted

OK...nobody asked me to get tickets, so I'll just get my own and everyone else can get theirs.

Hopefully we can all meet up for beers beforehand though.

Alkaline Trio are also playing.

This is cool. They are probably my favorite punk band, but hadn't seen them live yet.

I've had tickets since they announced their tour a few months ago...

I've seen them several times, they tour the states with an entire bar on stage, how they do that here too, maybe they'll remember me and have me drinking @ the bar on stage. ...somehow I'm thinking they won't have it for the european tour, though.

Oh, NOFX are playing a few days before @ Rock am See, btw.

If anyone is into punk music (American style) and/or Alkaline Trio this gig is a must. I have never seen Me First... but have heard they are really great too.

Alkaline Trio suck ass (emo crap), but I'll be there for Me First...

I'd recommend showing up a lil drunk or a lil late...or both.
