My wife and I (and two small kids) are looking around for a summer get away place within 4 hours from Stuttgart (or a cheap flight). We are letting go of our Italian home (b/c of the 11 hour drive, and no cheap flights). Does anyone know of a lake area where a house or camp can be bought (in Germany, France??) at a okay price? We have looked at the Black Forest area, but haven’t seen much. Bayern is out of the question price wise. Bodensee is also too pricey.
Thanks

the south of france(cote d'Azur specially antibes alittle out of Nice really nice area and not that expensive as in Nice) is the only place I would invest in (if I ever have the money to invest!) but surely that doenst even come close to the range of an OK price.

I saw an ad a while back for a nice little place in the Black Forrest. The price was not so bad. Couldn't tell you where I saw it though. The Bohemian Forrest is also not bad for prices and is on the Check border. If you go across the border, they are even cheaper and right on the lake there. You could then rent it out on TT for the week(s-end) that you are not using it.

What was the price? We have been searching on the web for a place in the Black Forrest but have found little. Over the boarder in France is also okay (even better)...???
