The weekend that was in Munich...

Friday night had dinner with some friends in an excellent restaurant in Trudering. I highly recommend it. It's called Obermeier and is on Truderingerstr. Excellent service, top quality food. I had a beef thing done in a Merlot sauce. Every mouthful was top quality. Then back to Trudering U-Bahn station and just before you get there is a bar called "Groovy Me". Tiny little place with live music. Very good rock cover band playing. And the waitress was in my humble opinion a goddess. Then back into town for a swifty downstairs in Tapas-Tapas (shite, not recommended) and over to Babalu where a mate of mine had organised a party night. 70's disco type thing. Good fun.

Saturday was in recovery for most of the day. Then headed for "62" on Leopoldstr. private party, no entry, doh! Over to "Eat the Rich" on Heßstr, no reservations, no entry, doh! Had a couple in Enchiladas and then headed for the safe bet of Kilian's. Greg from the Aussie bar was having a party so Neds was stuffed solid and Kilian's similar. Load of beers, average rock band, good night in all.

Sunday, Wirtshaus Ligsalz in Westend for a quiet one. Turned out to be a not so quiet 9 or 10. Ouch. Suffering like fuck today.

Monday, just turned 30. Feeling old, battered and bruised. But still alive.

okay key, so you turned 30. congratulations. it's all downhill from there, right? just joking! so is that why you could afford all that fun? just curious, how much an average weekend in mü costs ya'll. i suffer in st as it is, but it's my thought mü ist much more expensive! and generally the irish pubs are more expensive than your usual pub, right? mü is a Toytown, but do you have to be a rich yuppie to afford it? and all you translators out there, what do you do?

I was there too, with Hazza, but I didn't see you. Not a bad band, I thought -- a bit on the loud side, but maybe that was because we were right at the front next to them.

I managed to get a picture, but I'm not going to post it because it came out worse than the ones from the Manics gig...

Groovy Me? Groovy name! Although I'd have called it Groovy Mu.

9 or 10 last night and you are still able to type this morning Keydeck? Wow, I'm impressed. Happy birthday, such as it is...now that you are old, you will have to cut back on the lusty snapshots or it's just going to look pervy... biggrin.gif
Keydeck
Will be having a bit of a continuation this evening if anyone is around. Back to Kilian's I'm afraid.

Hoddy, are you referring to the photos of you? laugh.gif Must remember to put them up onto the website.

Thanks for the laugh Keydeck...be sure to put my pictures in the clown section of the gallery biggrin.gif

I might show up tonight but be warned, I'm going to point out every gray hair on your head gramps.
Granny
Many happy returns, Keydeck!
The antics you described, leads me to believe that there's life in the old dog yet.
My daughers' definition of old is when you return to wearing Clarks shoes again. Have you?
Anyway, I hope you had a lovely day and I wish you many more.
Keydeck
Cheers Granny. Haven't gone back to wearing the Clarks just yet, but I do have my eye on a rather fetching pair of cords that I saw in Hertie.

Well, finished off the weekend with a suitable batch of beers in Kilians last night. Bit of a diddley-iddly session going on in the corner, met a woman who knew my father about 35 years ago (actually she might have been my mum) and got a couple of freebie pints into the bargain. Although I did have to show Ann my dodgey driving license first to prove that it was my birthday. We've estimated about 36 beers since Friday evening. Not bad for an old man.

I went to Kilian's last night, along with French Bloke and Egor the Russian, but there was no sign of any Toytowners. We were there from around 9pm - 10pm (they forgot my food, so I gave up after one pint and went home). Happy Birthday anyway though, Keydeck!
Keydeck
Whereabouts were you? There was a group of 4 of us sitting about halfway down the bar.
AquaticMeringue
We were sitting at the round table, beside the coats (pretty much opposite the entrance).

Must have walked straight past you then on the way in. Blind as a bat you know. It's the old age kicking in.
