I would move back to Munich in a heartbeat! It's piercing windy here that makes winter even colder than it is! I miss the Isar (especially in summer), the alps, the lakes, even Baiirisch and of course TT smile.gif People here are nicer but I miss my friends back in Munich sad.gif

I spent some time chatting with an older gentleman in a café here today. He said that he had always lived around Hamburg (he was in his 70s). He made one funny comment, which was, "ah yes, this people in Hamburg are always trying to be like the British, the upper class British, that is." I didn't ask him to expound but considering his well mannered behaviour, intellectual development, shined shoes, attire, manner of speech and excellent table manners I assumed he was more than capable of distinguishing between the classes or at the very least, his older age and experience warrented my respect so I didn't even think of challenging him smile.gif

Hamburg has always been known for its Anglophilia. Hamburgers are very fond of polo and tennis. Of course, the Beatles got their start in Hamburg in part because of their fondness for all things English.

With all due respect...if you want good weather, you'll not find it anywhere in northern Europe...move to southern California or the Mediterranean. comparing the weather in M and HH is like comparing off-white to beige...miniscule differences.

For me, I always found Munich, beneath its faux-elegance, to be an overgrown cow-town. HH is far more cosmopolitan...anglo, american, whatever you want to call it. Munich is still, at heart, a conservative, church-based city...nothing against the church, but Germany has always had a bit of an issue with separation of church and state.

Just my opinion...
