Second, the 25 July works for me. what about a more central Biergarten, ie
the Augustiner Biergarten (behind the Hackerbrucke Haltestelle)
I'm with jen13, aef, Kat and oh_angela and think the Augustiner Biergarten sounds like a super idea!

Shall we go with this? I have not yet been there.
Does anybody know if we can make a reservation, or if we must come early to claim table space? Directions: For those (like me) who are directionally challenged and lost without Google Map, the address is:
Arnulfstrasse 52, 80335 München. Here's a
link to the Web site in English, which has links to a map and to routing for those traveling by train or car. The Augustiner Biergarten lies along the central S-Bahn line between the Hackerbrücke and
Hauptbahnhof stops and is a lot closer to the former (perhaps 3 minutes on foot). According to their Web site (whose English version I clarify a bit), these are the best options for public transportation:
QUOTE
• S-Bahn to Hackerbrücke (1 stop west of Hauptbahnhof; the only street at the Hackerbrücke stop is Grasserstraße. Walk along Grasserstraße in the direction of Arnulfstrasse, which is the first street you'll meet. Turn right on Arnulfstrasse, and within a minute or two you'll see the Biergarten.)
• U1/U2 or U4/U5 to Hauptbahnhof (and then about 7 minutes by foot to Augustinerkeller)
• Tram 16 towards Romanplatz to the stops Hopfenstrasse or Hackerbrücke
• Tram 17 towards Amalienburgstr. to the stops Hopfenstrasse or Hackerbrücke
For those traveling by car, the Web site states, "There are enough parking sites in front of our house or close-by."
