Does anyone use or know of an international health insurance that will cover me here and in the US?? And I should probably mention that I have a pre-existing condition.. so that might make it a bit more difficult

I have BUPA out of the UK...It covers most countries and there is an option to choose coverage in the US also.

I remember from some years ago that DKV offers worldwide coverage in most of their German private health plans. I think there was no time limit for the international coverage. Don't know if they still do it. Presumably, the reimbursement maximum is what they would pay for a treatment in Germany, so you might not be fully covered if US hospitals charge more.

I have that DVK coverage. The only requirement is that you always keep a bank account in Germany. It covers us anywhere in the world, with no time limits. It does however use Germany rates as their standard. It is expensive, though cheaper than Alliance, and they is no time limit.

What about american based insurance companies? It'll be expensive anyway I do it, but if I can pay in $ then it'll work out somewhat cheaper.
